Hello, dear affiliates!
Today I want to address a question that is going on around my head for quite some time.
My health and fitness website isn't doing that great
What a great post and I have no doubt that it is much harder with some niches. I am finding the same but let's take a step back and think about our brand for our sec.
Google is key, there is no doubt about that but its a bit like going to a so called "platform website builder" and they go bust and so does your website.
At least here we have the opportunity to build a brand and use multiple platforms. Google will change and we can't control it so what can we focus on well everything from bing, to youtube so social media.
Audio and video are still key.
If we build our brand and then our content even if google is not over keen on our niche we can find a way. We can build authority even if we have to work harder than anyone else.
To quote dirty dancing "nobody puts baby in the corner"
If we are not the market let's create it.
Just my thoughts, there is always something we can do about it! Good luck, Phil
Hey Natalie,
As Simone has already let you know, unless you are a professional in the field of health and/or fitness news, those sites no longer rank,
This all stemmed from a lawsuit Google lost. See screen print #1 below... I had to search using DuckDuckgo's search engine as Google has buried this information.
Also...
Check out screen print #2, as there are two posts shared there that may provide you with some insight as to what you can do... if anything.
Hope you find this helpful.
Thank you a million, Trish, this was really helpful.
It took me some time to go through and process the info, and I'll try to make some adjustments according to recommendations.
At the same time, I know there are Google Sites that promote the same products as I do.
These sites are on the first page of Google, and in essence, they aren't better than mine, which is quite discouraging.
Hey Natalie,
If you share medical information because of something you have experienced first hand, Google will rank those post high still.
Thankfully, months before Google took the steps detailed above, I exported all posts and pages from my health website and imported those to my personal blog and shut down my health site.
Having more sites than I could focus on at one time is NOT a good idea... and I finally GOT that message digested, and have moved forward.
On my personal blog, I have indeed been sharing health experiences with my reader, as it is my goal to help save others from making similar or the same mistakes that I have made... or better... to share news regarding pain relief that works wonders... or medical treatments the average GP won't / doesn't share with their patients that saves major surgery.
Hi, Trish,
Thank you for sharing your experience, and I believe you made the right decisions.
I have started this blog in March 2019 - the time when Google medical update was already in place.
I wasn't even aware of it and this is my total responsibility for the results I got today.
Hey I am interested know solution to your situation, because am just getting started and want to learn from your experience hope you do not mind. Thank you, I am Lula.
Natalia, I am reading at this moment why that's happening.
Google recently change its YMYL (your money or your life) and EAT ( expertise, authoritativeness, trustworthiness) update in 2018.
You can read about it on Google and why it is difficult to rank high at the moment
You're right.
I have come to realise that no matter what we can say, we absolutely need backlinks.
I've recently seen new sites(about 10 months) have a domain authority of 7 and rank one page one easily now.
So, it's all about backlinks
I know but I am thinking differently as well. I am a Nurse Practitioner and I should start approaching that from that stance

Hello, everyone!
I'm updating my older posts but after hitting the Update button, the date of publishing remains the same.
Is there any way I can make the dates up
Hey Natalia,
Here's a video to show you how: Unpublish Post, Make Changes to Date and Time You only want to be changing the dates in your older posts after you have added a sufficient amount of NEW information and/or updated the old information, else you would only be trying to "game" the search engines, which "COULD" work against you.
The following article may help you make your decision: https://www.searchenginejournal.com/change-article-dates-seo/381114/
Hope you find this helpful.
Go to Posts > All Posts and hover your mouse over the title of the post you want to change the date on. Use Quick Edit to make the changes without opening the actual post.
Hi Natalie,
Top right-hand corner by the update button, you have the option to change the date.
Just go back into the post if you want, click on edit tab next to the date, change the date, and then update.

Hello, everyone! Does anyone know if Jay will be continue doing live classes every Friday? On his page, I didn't find the schedule as he used to have before the platform update
jays upcoming webinars are for premium plus and nothing down for the friday/saturday schedule
but i am sure that the schedule is being worked out and will be updated soon.
phil
have you contacted Kyle about this?
phil
Of course, no doubts here.
I'd go here https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/classrooms
And click events, you'd find Jay's schedule.
if you go in under subsriptions then all premium webinars stop the end of this month - all of jays pucoming webinars on seo are marked with crowns....
and nothing into dec for friday/sat or next year....
so maybe worth watching....
phil
Yes, but there used to be a regular email to encourage people to attend. Why is that not happening now? With low turnout, this may result in Jay's sessions not happening for premium members...
haven't seen the emails for a long while - maybe a change in policy....
shouldn't make any difference how many attend - most will watch the replay - as i do...
still promised 52+ live classes in the advertising blurb.....
and would be nice to see which direction they are thinking of taking us over the next few months.....
I agree. I haven't watched any webinar since the new updates.
Too much bugs, and I don't even get the email to notify me as it used to
I am sure he will.
There is a schedule for December classes:
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/classes/series/seo-plus-advanced-search-engine-optimization-strategies
Natalia, there is no notification that anything has changed for Jay's live classes. I believe they will still go ahead as usual
Yes he will
Go to training at the top then select training HQ from there click events.
There you will see the webinars he has planned which the next one is on the 28/11 on Working With Live Video & Webinars

Hello, WAers!
I just recently learned about Google Sites available for everyone for free on https://sites.google.com/, and that Google gives priority to these sites when
Hi Natalia. Working so hard with our website is worth. That's what we call endeavor. Diving into offers may be worth or you may not be able to reach your goals. This may lead to confuse. I have bad experience to that. I stay with WA. So much hard work. One thing I was able to published my first niche for traffic. Of course with the help of Kyle, AbeiJ, Chrystopher and others.
Natalia is your own prerogative where you can be happy.
I don't want to reinvent the wheel, so check the following on your own. Firstly, read what some Google sites say:

Hi Natalia,
Google Sites are just a sub-domain very much like their blogger(dot)com platform (and like our siterubix platform).
Even though they are aimed at small businesses and people with side projects, I would hazard a guess that you are limited in your commerical intent.
I haven't read their Terms of Service, but I would say that affiliate marketing would be frowned upon and probably any Google Sites with this marketing intent will be taken down and banned immediately.
There was a time about 10-15 years ago when you could use blogger(dot)com for promotion, and they ranked very well becuase they were owned by Google.
By too much advertising or promotion and these sites would get flagged and taken down.
As you say, with your own domain, you own it, so you are control of it. You can write whatever you want and you can promote whatever you want.
With both Blogger and Google Sites, they are owned by Google, so they will control what content you put on there.
If they don't like your content, e.g. too much promotion, then all your content will be lost.
Google Sites aren't actually a website builder either, such as Wix, SquareSpace, Wordpress, etc. so you won't learn any valuable skills.
Plus they only have a few templates (maybe 3 or 4) so eventually you'll have millions of sites looking exactly the same.
I know it's free and you can automatically integrate Google Images and YouTube videos, but that's the only real benefits.
You own domain ame with consistent hard work and adhering to good SEO practices will always produce higher rankings in the long run (even Google realises this).
Additionally, from a consumer's point-of-view they will typically view a domain that you own as more professional.
A sub-domain, even if it's owned by Google, doesn't look as professional.
You may be viewed as someone who is building a site "just for fun", whereas you come across as more of an expert with your own "domain".
There's probably nothing wrong with owning a few Google sites and linking to your own domain, but as I say you will have to be very careful about promoting anything on Google Sites.
If they don't like content, then you may lose all the content you have added, and you would have to completely rewrite this content in order for it to ever rank again.
Partha
Natalia, they put in the work to get there. In my opinion, we must put in even more work to displace them! It is the nature of competition!
