WA Keyword Tool: Help Me Understand These Results?

How is it possible for a search made 10s (or 100s) of 1000s of times per month to generate 0 traffic?

Why would a keyword search for "how to" include results like these?

I tried the first in the list and see the result. So try again. By the way, I am sure this is a fake result. Phrases 'how to' are stop words. The same result is for copyright alone.

You will not be ranked if you use such keywords. See my blog

Hi, Jovo, thanks for your reply.

I don't know what "stop words" are, but I'll look that up. No need to trouble yourself telling me, it'll only take me a few seconds to find out.

You're sure what is a fake result, 0 traffic? I'm sure it is, too. That's why I was curious about it.

I didn't search for "how to" because I intended to use that exact phrase as a keyword. I searched for it because I wanted to find the most popular subjects/topics people were searching for "how to" information on.

In other words, I used the WA KW tool fill in the blank in "how to __________."

("how to cook" is very popular search, lol.)

I appreciate the link to your post, but I do know how to use keywords in my content. Still, it was nice of you to link to your post in case I didn't know how.

Do you have any idea why results like: "dr phil show today" and the others would be included in a search for "how to?"

Perhaps you misunderstood what I meant by a fake result. If you use keywords with such stop words, i.e., 'how to + core" the result is fake because it is usually the same as the result for the 'core' word. Do not use such keywords in general, you will not rank with them.

This about zero traffic is not a true result, perhaps something was wrong with the KT. Try again.

Cannot answer the rest, just ignore what it gives you.

Ah, Jovo, you brilliant man: I couldn't understand your answer until I found out what "stop words" are (words/phrases search engines are programmed to ignore.)

"How to" may be a stop word, but using it as a search term did give me some longtail keywords I can use. So, it was worth doing.

I tried what you suggested: using WA's Keyword Search tool, I searched for "how to cook" and "cook." I got a good number of keywords for each and none of the keywords appeared on both lists.

Obviously, I need to get more experience with keyword searching, so I can understand it better, lol.

I'm afraid I can't take your advice to ignore results I don't understand. If I did that, I'd never learn. It's okay that you don't know the answer. Maybe someone will come along who does.

Thanks much for your time! :)

dr phil show today = show today - knock off the s and the day = how to, shows ya what it has picked up!!
