Hey Michelle,
Rob's tutorial will help you with what options to check mark: How to Use the Pretty Link Plugin as does Marion's video tutorial: Pretty Links Hope this helps you.
I use Pretty links and use the no follow option for affiliate links because I dont want the Google bots to follow those links. Hopefully that helps.
Thnx, T. SO, you only do that for the affiliate links not when you are posting your content on a social media (for example)?
M
I dont shorten any other links accept affiliate links. I make my URLs my keyword when I publish my post.

I was just curious about this.
Let's say hypothetically that you are an affiliate of Clickbank and there is an offer you would like to purchase for your own purposes. Can t
Great question, I'd say to read the Terms of Service (TOS). I'd also imagine that most affiliate companies would frown at this practice. I also agree with Loes, you'd have to contact the affiliating company to see what they would allow.
MrGus
Most do not allow this, you have to contact the company you are affiliated with, I have 2 companies who are allowing this
That's good. I contacted Book Depository about this as my wife has been buying books from them for years. They haven't come back to me yet with an answer.
Most affiliate programs frown upon the practice. Unless they have changed, even ClickBank recently is withholding payment if the credit cards used for sales aren't diversified enough. In other words, if you use the same credit card to purchase a bunch of ClickBank products with your affiliate id, you may not receive the payment. They want to see that multiple people are buying which implies that you have customers instead of you buying using your own affiliate id. Again, check with ClickBank to make sure but I read about this change several months ago.
Some affiliate programs simply don't credit you with the sale while others may ban you from the program if you are caught doing it. Be sure to check the rules of each program.
Best Regards,
Jim

I am using the Iconic Theme. I would like to know how I can add a customised signature that appears at the end of every article I write versus creating it as a widget and then
I would think it would be just like an image and could be added by downloading it into your pictures file and "add media" at the end of your article. I guess it would be sort of like manually placing it, but it would just take a second. I don't use signatures, so I'm not sure about this, but I can try it if you'd like to see if it works!
I installed the plugin but I need to fine tune it a bit. You can give me your honest opinion here from checking out this link.
Thnx

Hello WA talented minds,
I hope you are all doing fabulous. I have a question for you:
I use an animated signature at the bottom of my posts. Do I need to add a met
I love the animated signature and would love to do it. Thanks for the great idea. Unfortunately I can't help you with your question since I really have no idea how to do the animated signature yet.
Thnx for being there, K. To get the animated signature...simply type 'animated signature ' in the WA search box at the top of each page and you will find enough tutorials to help. Just play around with it until you find one that helps you to achieve your goal.
Lemme know.
M
I have a question for you. I love your animated signature. I tried to apply one, but it doesn't seem to move at least when I see it. Do you see your animated signature move or is it only for the public to see?
Hello, Griselda, thnx. Yes, it moves when I look at it too. Make sure that you are extending all the parameters to make it move. Just type in 'animated signature' in the search bar at the top of each WA page and choose a tutorial that you like and see if it works.
Lemme know.

Ok...I am a little lost, read your question - which interested me, then read the answers and, I guess I am not yet advanced enough to understand...what are meta tags and ALT tags... is this covered in the Bootcamp - at an advanced lesson?
Cause I think understanding these points are important!
Hello, Orion, don't get too bent out of shape. It is something you will learn as you progress.
If you choose to get there before your coursework does, then simply go to the live video classes archive and type in meta tags and then watch the videos. Use them as an introductory to them. Then wait until your coursework gets to the meat of the matter. Much success.
M
i'm not sure how to do this, but I would really like to learn!!
Hi M, how is your weekend going?
Hey there, my nite owl friend, how are you doing? I am well and fingers to the keyboard. DUUUHHH...LOL
Weekend is going and I am chugging along too. Working on putting out as many posts as I humanly can allowing for circumstances, let's just call it LIFE. I do my best and a BIG effort to boot.
How is your weekend going?

Hey Michelle,
If you are meaning that you have this animated image in your WordPress Media Library, then that is where you would keep the ALT tag.
In this way, your ALT tag will be imported with your image, each time you click Add Media to have this animated image added to the end of each of your posts.
Hope this helps you.
Thnx, Trish.
Lemme try to say it differently and with more word count.
Each time I create an article, I add my animated signature. My question is this: do I need to change the 'alt text' on the signature each time to reflect the new article title?
Thanks for helping out.
M
Ah!
I think your issue is with "what is the ALT tag for" ... once you understand that then you will understand completely why the answer to your question is, "no".
Here is what an ALT tag is for: http://accessibility.psu.edu/images/imageshtml/
