Hello Everyone,

I hope you are well.

I also only shorten my affiliate link and it is a no follow.

Tried and true

Elaine

Thnx, E.

I also use bit.ly!

i use bitly.com

I leave it as follow. I reckon if there is no follow there is no importance for the link. This is my opinion.

Thnx, B.
M

I go to bit.ly because you can taylor the tail end of it sso be somewhat relevant

Thnx, R.
M

Pretty links is good!! Its a plugin.

Thnx, A.
M

I am just beginning to learn Pretty link in a Bootcamp Lesson

Awesome, T.

Hey Michelle,

Rob's tutorial will help you with what options to check mark: as does Marion's video tutorial: Hope this helps you.

Thnx, T, appreciate that. Hope all is well with you.
M

Sorry. I know it's. But I don't know how use too.

No worries, maybe we will both find the answer here!
M

Yap...

I use Pretty links and use the no follow option for affiliate links because I dont want the Google bots to follow those links. Hopefully that helps.

Thnx, T. SO, you only do that for the affiliate links not when you are posting your content on a social media (for example)?
M

I dont shorten any other links accept affiliate links. I make my URLs my keyword when I publish my post.

Ok, thnx.
M

Hi Tiffany, that's what I also do.

Youre welcome!

I was just curious about this.
Let's say hypothetically that you are an affiliate of Clickbank and there is an offer you would like to purchase for your own purposes. Can t

With Clickbank you can, you simply will not receive a commission. Also, consider using a different credit card from the one used to purchase the affiliate site. Lastly, in ref to it being ethical, if it isn't habitually you should be ok.
MrGus

Thnx, E

Amazon does not like it:

Thnx, H.

There are rules against this in Amazon. I don't know about Clickbank!

Clickbank allows this, however, you will not receive a commission. It's also good to use a different credit card from the one used to purchase your account. Again its all in the TOS! Best of luck
MrGus

Thnx, M

Probably best to pay a friend and get them to order online, in their name, their CC details, and their shipping address.

Great idea, Brad. Appreciate your insight!
M

This is what I am going to do. I have something I also want to buy.

Great question, I'd say to read the Terms of Service (TOS). I'd also imagine that most affiliate companies would frown at this practice. I also agree with Loes, you'd have to contact the affiliating company to see what they would allow.
MrGus

Yes, indeed. Thanks for commenting, Everell.
M

I have come across some that allow and very few who do. Some which allow will not pay you.

Thnx, G.
M

I would have thought you could or at least you'll be able to but after reading some of the other comments I guess that makes sense

Yes, it is interesting, isn't it?

Most do not allow this, you have to contact the company you are affiliated with, I have 2 companies who are allowing this

Thnx, Loes. Appreciate your answer.
M

That's good. I contacted Book Depository about this as my wife has been buying books from them for years. They haven't come back to me yet with an answer.

Most affiliate programs frown upon the practice. Unless they have changed, even ClickBank recently is withholding payment if the credit cards used for sales aren't diversified enough. In other words, if you use the same credit card to purchase a bunch of ClickBank products with your affiliate id, you may not receive the payment. They want to see that multiple people are buying which implies that you have customers instead of you buying using your own affiliate id. Again, check with ClickBank to make sure but I read about this change several months ago.

Some affiliate programs simply don't credit you with the sale while others may ban you from the program if you are caught doing it. Be sure to check the rules of each program.

Best Regards,
Jim

Thanks so much, Jim. I appreciate your reply.
M

Use your own id

Hello Bellon, thnx for your reply. How would I do that?
M

It is not seen as unethical, some sites do not allow (like a’azon)

Does anyone know how soon we can access the Black Friday Discount banners? I would love to start my campaign NOW!!

Hey Michelle,

In case you missed Barb's blog today: she has shared the location.

Hope this helps you.

Thnx, T.

Banners will be on their way very soon, likely available early to mid week next week (and of course I will be doing a full announcement to the community as well).

Awesome, thnx K. Appreciate it.
M

Hi M,
As Loes mentioned, Kyle made the announcement on the 19th of November. Here is his blog on it. J

Thnx, J. Appreciate it.

Great question Michelle! I suppose Loes had the best answer. Thanks for getting us all to start thinking about preparing for Black Friday.

You're welcome, S. Be well.

Last year on the 19th of November, so around this date:) You have to wait for the release date of Kyle and Carson, it's their call!

Thnx, Loes. Appreciate your reply. Have a great day. Would you suggest anything I can do until then?
M

Just prepare your stuff, so you only have to add the banners

Thnx, Loes. You rock...as if you did not already know that!!
Have a great day!!

Thanks:) Same to you Michelle:)

I am using the Iconic Theme. I would like to know how I can add a customised signature that appears at the end of every article I write versus creating it as a widget and then

I think it would work as a media file

Thnx, Brenda. Can you expand on that?
M

I would think it would be just like an image and could be added by downloading it into your pictures file and "add media" at the end of your article. I guess it would be sort of like manually placing it, but it would just take a second. I don't use signatures, so I'm not sure about this, but I can try it if you'd like to see if it works!

Oh, I see. Thnx for the suggestion. I like Loes idea below. Seems easy enough.
M

Let me know if it works, I might want to do the same thing!

I installed the plugin but I need to fine tune it a bit. You can give me your honest opinion here from checking out this link.

Hello WA talented minds,

I hope you are all doing fabulous. I have a question for you:

I use an animated signature at the bottom of my posts. Do I need to add a met

I love the animated signature and would love to do it. Thanks for the great idea. Unfortunately I can't help you with your question since I really have no idea how to do the animated signature yet.

Thnx for being there, K. To get the animated signature...simply type 'animated signature ' in the WA search box at the top of each page and you will find enough tutorials to help. Just play around with it until you find one that helps you to achieve your goal.
Lemme know.
M

Thank you Michelle

I have a question for you. I love your animated signature. I tried to apply one, but it doesn't seem to move at least when I see it. Do you see your animated signature move or is it only for the public to see?

Hello, Griselda, thnx. Yes, it moves when I look at it too. Make sure that you are extending all the parameters to make it move. Just type in 'animated signature' in the search bar at the top of each WA page and choose a tutorial that you like and see if it works.
Lemme know.
M

Thank you. I will check it out. Blessings to you and your endeavors.

Namaste, G.
M

Ok...I am a little lost, read your question - which interested me, then read the answers and, I guess I am not yet advanced enough to understand...what are meta tags and ALT tags... is this covered in the Bootcamp - at an advanced lesson?
Cause I think understanding these points are important!

Hello, Orion, don't get too bent out of shape. It is something you will learn as you progress.
If you choose to get there before your coursework does, then simply go to the live video classes archive and type in meta tags and then watch the videos. Use them as an introductory to them. Then wait until your coursework gets to the meat of the matter. Much success.
M

Thanks for the advice M, much appreciated

In Yoast, it's a space that should be filled up.

Thnx, J. I use Yoast as well.
M

i'm not sure how to do this, but I would really like to learn!!

Hi M, how is your weekend going?

Hey there, my nite owl friend, how are you doing? I am well and fingers to the keyboard. DUUUHHH...LOL
Weekend is going and I am chugging along too. Working on putting out as many posts as I humanly can allowing for circumstances, let's just call it LIFE. I do my best and a BIG effort to boot.
How is your weekend going?
M

Hey Michelle,

If you are meaning that you have this animated image in your WordPress Media Library, then that is where you would keep the ALT tag.

In this way, your ALT tag will be imported with your image, each time you click Add Media to have this animated image added to the end of each of your posts.

Hope this helps you.

Thnx, Trish.
Lemme try to say it differently and with more word count.
Each time I create an article, I add my animated signature. My question is this: do I need to change the 'alt text' on the signature each time to reflect the new article title?
Thanks for helping out.
M

Ah!

I think your issue is with "what is the ALT tag for" ... once you understand that then you will understand completely why the answer to your question is, "no".

Here is what an ALT tag is for: http://accessibility.psu.edu/images/imageshtml/

Thnx for the link, I will take a look.
M

I like the idea of adding a meta tag with each article:)

Thnx for your feedback, Rene.
Appreciate it.
