What Is Your Learning Curve?

Hello Guys 'n Dolls!

I hope you are doing well.

I am so excited that the weekend is at hand - TGIF!!

I have been busy writing and I enjoy every minute of it, however, I still look forward to the weekend when I take a load off. I don’t always keep my word for myself, but one thing’s for sure - I do take time off.

This is a short post concerning our learning curve.

I have come to realize that we all learn differently and at a different pace.

The good news is we are in control of the fact that no matter how much we have to learn, we are the only ones who can decide when it all comes together.

Yes, we are all anxious to make money in the chosen field in which we start out, however, in order to get to that point we have to take it step by step. I have also come to realize that comparison to others does not help me personally.

I use the stories of others to motivate me. I do not overwhelm myself with their progress as I find that if I do that, I may get upset with myself because I am not at their particular point.

I’ve also come to value the making of mistakes. Of course making a mistake is no fun. However, the way I chose to look at it is this - I have two choices:

  • I can make the mistake and I learn from it
  • or, I can look at the mistakes of others and learn from them

I kinda like to learn from others. Of course, learning from them is a good point of reference. I am not happy they made a mistake but I am happy that they were confident enough to tell us about their mistakes to show their frailty and to give us a chance to learn from it.

So, I just want to remind everyone in the community of a few things:

  • we are all different
  • we all learn differently
  • we all have our own pace to learn what we are being taught
  • and we can make mistakes and it’s OK.

So my dear friends, I just want to encourage you to keep going no matter what. You will sometimes bump your toe along the way - or at the proverbial bump in the road, but, never quit.

It is always when you’re almost there that you give up and then, after the fact, you realize how close you were and you should have persevered.

All the best and have a great weekend.

Namaste

Michelle

Awesome post Michelle, your insights are true for many of us. At the end of the day what counts is that we keep on going. That learning curve can be steep some days, it is so cool to be mindful that we are on this journey with some really positive folks, and we are all striving to enhance our lifestyles, thanks for this food for thought post.

Hey there Alex,
Thanks for your kinds words. Yes, we have a wonderful group of people, worker bees and all sorts...it is our differences that make us so attractive!

Hi Michelle, I love that...I would rather learn from the mistakes of others! I agree with you, the most important thing is to learn, whatever the source of the teaching!

Yes, F. It all starts there - in the mind. SO yes, we need to re-wire things from the inside sometimes.
M

Thank you Zen Master!

I bow to you!

Hi Michelle, you are so right. It is easy to compare ourselves to others when we read of their success.
What we don’t know is how long they have been doing it, how many bumps in the road they have overcome, or even their niche.
We should celebrate their success because we too are within WA which is where they learnt their craft.
If they can, we can.
With Grace and Gratitude
Karen

Beautifully said, K. Yes, we need to remember the props are there to help not to re-design.
