The Art Of Doing Nothing!

The art of doing nothing – well, almost.

I just had a wonderful weekend.

And the philosophy of doing nothing relates mainly to how disconnected you are with everything while being in the moment and being aware of it!

The fact that I’m writing to tell the community about this is after the fact of what I did. I did not write this content while in the ‘art of nothing’ mode.

So, I turned up the computer for a few days, as hard as that was for me. But like most of us, our computers are connected to us because that is one aspect of our business – it is about writing. Writing content for our websites, writing more content to be used for other agencies (that we may be members of).

To continue, this weekend, I was almost totally disconnected from my computer. Yes, I will be honest. I did go online for a spell, mind you, maybe 5 minutes. In that context when it comes to me and my writing, 5 minutes does nothing.

In any event not only did I disconnect from my computer, I also disconnected from my home.

I went to a new location where technology was not a great prerequisite to be there - out in the boonies! The fact that there was not much of an internet connection also helped me to stay away from the computer.

Now we are back into civilization, well almost - I’m on my way home. Really excited, because I will be back on my laptop. Yes, I feel a lot more refreshed, because my fingers took a break and so did my thinking processes.

Just being a part of nature, listening to the birds, listening to the sounds that you’re not familiar with, exercising your smell buds, seeing no buildings for miles, is overly refreshing. I hope you had a great weekend, I know I did. I am looking forward to a productive week and my fingers will live to tell the tale.

Have a great week everyone!

Namaste

Michelle

I make a point of doing nothing for a day or two, well the last 5 years if i'm truly honest!

Post WA days you must take time out! Very refreshing to do so!

Nothing like getting your Cape out and transiting the family to the Boonies (?) or did you play it safe and go by car!

Thanks Michelle

Hi Michelle, Glad you had a great weekend and have returned refreshed. It's nice to take a break! Having said that, it's sooo hard not to get on the computer, I have to check things at least once a day or I go nuts. LOL
Jenny
