Hello Guys and Dolls!

How are you doing? I hope all is well.

This is a quick post to wish you a great weekend ahead and that somehow, somewhere, you will find time to just be.

So I had an 'AHA' moment about two days ago.

Do you know how we breathe, see, and talk about living that laptop style life?

Well why do we think that we need to wait for this to happen?

If you really get technical we are already there. OK maybe I make it too simple. I will use myself as an example.

I have a goal to let the Internet become my main source of income. In working on that goal I am a member of Wealthy Affiliate. But not only am I am member of Wealthy Affiliate, I am an active member because I follow the courses and I do my homework.

Of course as with any project as you are just starting out, it will take time to get where you want to be. However, the key is to be consistent and keep going even when the obstacles tell you otherwise.

So back to my 'AHA' moment.

I am living that laptop style life. Every day I have a schedule that I follow and my best friend is my laptop. I take that laptop with me anywhere.

When I go to my daughter’s school and I have to wait for her after school I sit in my car I work on my laptop. When I take her to her numerous extra-curricular activities and while I wait, I work on my laptop.

Once home, after I do my chores - make dinner for my family, put my daughter and hubby to sleep, shower, and relax for a few moments - then that I’m back on my laptop.

So the point I’m making is this - we are all living that laptop style life. The $1,000,000 question is how much are we making?

Well it does take time and it will take time and I am not there yet.

However, I am enjoying the versatility of being able to take my work wherever I want and however I choose. The money will come because I am doing something I like so I am going to be patient and until then I will be living my idea of that laptop style life.

What do you think?

Namaste

You are quite right and I'm glad you said so. I admit that my laptop doesn't go everywhere with me, mostly because it will not fit in my purse. I will have to save up for either a larger purse or a smaller electronic device that is larger than my phone.

Take care.

LOL, now this graphic made me chuckle - smaller laptop or bigger purse!
Either way, you will be connected.

I think that's the trend nowadays for everyone, young and old alike. For the young ones, it's basically for school and enjoyment. But for us, we are more on the potential of earning, maybe not now but gradually and hopefully will sustain us in the years to come.

Being here at WA is getting more exciting each day.
And living that laptop lifestyle is worth it in the long run, as long as we know our priorities.

Indeed, M. SO true. It is so funny when we see how technology has morphed us in one way or another - good or bad!
And yes, being here at Wealthy Affiliate is a great learning platform with so much to offer.
Have a great weekend.

Thanks for that insight. I need to be more about bringing my laptop with me while my son is at soccer practice. But I also like to be one of the parents chasing the balls down and encouraging the kids. So I know I won't get that much work done anyway. I will be taking it with me while we 'escape' down to Fla for a few days. I guess I will be typing up content on the plane. :o)

LOL...yes, I so understand the 'mommy cheer' thing, however, once in a while mommy needs some down time too. Safe travels.

Good afternoon Michelle,

Going on holiday I take my laptop with me. I must confess I did not work much while being away but that made my better half happy as he got most of my attention.
This summer I plan to take my laptop downstairs and sit outside on the Patio so I can enjoy the view and fresh warm air at the same time.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

Hey there T,
That sounds delightful...sitting in nature or having a great view...and very thoughtful of you to enjoy Michael ( for a change>>>LOL)
Have a great weekend, T.

Excellent! It’s funny how for me this has become a bit of an obsession. I’m on a little holiday on our way to my sons University grad weekend and I promised myself I would take a bit of a break. It’s been hard, other than doing emails and reading posts with am coffee my writing is limited to my “blog idea” note page. Important to still take the time for special moments with family but I’ll be back in the laptop lifestyle on Tuesday!!!

Awesome, S. I so HEAR you loud and clear. It can indeed feel 'obsessive'. However, we need to remember to breathe occasionally and truly live.
Have fun with your family at the graduation celebration.
M

I had not given the subject any thought until I read your post.first I make it a rule to only fo the things I like I only break that rule when I feel I have to.I try to work at least 4 hours a day in my studio, i work every day, i sleep an average of 6 hours a day. If I allow 2 hours for misselenous activities. The rest of the time I am either on the laptop or smart phone which I am now finding convenient for conducting a lot of WA activities. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome, C. You have to have a plan/schedule - stick to it and make it work in order to get work done. Continue in like manner and you will see results.

Just getting started but I'm with both of you. Laptop and guitar will be my chief companions, hopefully visiting some of the home studios I help sell and set up. Playing music and seeing the world...now that my friends is living' the dream! Eh? (Eh?---Canadian for Damn Right! or What do you think? depending on the context of what's being said. In this case "Damn Right" would be the best choice Source: Hudson Dictionary, 2018)

LOL, your comment made me smile, J - damn right! Much success to you, your laptop, and guitar!

Love living the laptop lifestyle!

Back when I started as a freelancer, I was invited to go to French program in Montreal and I could still learn and work as a freelancer.

Then having websites - I was able to work on them, while being in Russia and not only I created a new Amazon niche but working online saved me from deep depression (couldn't walk for 5 months after the surgery).

And I am excited to think that soon I will be able to travel around and all I will need is my laptop. :)

Congrats to you Zarina. Yes, it is all about perception - is the glass half-full or half-empty? Much success on your journey and I hope you are fully recovered as well.
M

It's always been half full glass for me haha. I even remember having my fam asking me as a kid and I'd say half full. Definitely feeling better, thank you for the well wishes, Michelle!

Awesome, Z.

Hi Michelle!

Yes I too am Living The Laptop Lifestyle!

Since joining on January 16, 2016 and earning my first penny November 6, 2016 I have not looked back!

All of my costs are covered (WA Membership, Internet Costs, etc) and I just re-invested 60% earnings back into each revenue stream (of which I now have 7 of my planned 10) and paid myself 40% each month since then!

Last year I was able to invest in Bitcoin at just the right time for me and come out on top before the crash!

I am not trying to sound conceited or braggy but I have worked hard for all of this but I love, love, love it!

My previous profession of 30 years was a passionate calling!

Now I am in another passion phase!

My Laptop makes my husband jealous!!!

Barb

PS Oh yes, my extra earnings this year took my hubbie and I to Acapulco for 3 weeks for the ATP Tennis Championship (10 feet from greatness - Rafael Nadal)!

PPS Thank you for this important reflective post...it's important to take a breathe and see the big picture!

Awesome, Barb. Congrats and continued success. Your comment gave me goosebumps just remembering the possibility is there as long as you work at it and don't quit.
Yes, I could use a 'fully-paid' vacation too...and it will come in time because this is my vision as I work.
Namaste.
M

Dream that vacation into reality...while tapping away creating on your keyboard, see and smell and hear and feel your vacation....

Your diligence will create your outcome!

Absolutely, B. I am so there already! Thanks for the motivation.
M

Ohhh dang Michelle you are so right on. As said to others here, the "unknown" is so exciting, don't you think?

The reality like taking daughter to school, etc. Are daily tasks but what you are doing is so real. To make this real is only space and time. You and I know this. I talk to people at work and they just don't see my reality Michelle.

We know when our site kicks into the world market the skies the limit. Most people can't see the importance of it all.

You should be doing what you're doing because the goal awaits you! NOW AIN'T THAT EXCITING MICHELLE!

You bet it is! Great post my friend!

f

Indeed, Frank. We ALL need a vision and to keep its focus despite anyone's belief or not in our venture. We have to believe in ourselves - this time it is about US!
Yes, we are co-creators with our Universe for our 'reality' as we choose to see it.
All the best to you as well, Frank
M

You too my friend!
