Hard work vs Talent
I've been seeing quite a number of affiliates blogging about being frustrated and wanting to give up because they have no prior knowledge of website building and have been struggling to follow the training. Since we are a community here, who look out for each other, I thought I'd write a few brief words to try to provide some encouragement for the discouraged among us.
I attend vocal training school and there is a quote I learnt from my coach, that propels those who are not naturally inclined to singing to work harder at practising and getting it right and sometimes, even out-shining those who sing well naturally. I'm not sure who to attribute this quote to, as my research has revealed that a couple different names have been associated with it but it goes like this: "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard".
There are many people at WA who are very skilled at technology and internet and all the things that are needed to do well here. Everything may be quite simple to them and they can make quick progress. Then there are some, myself included, who are not very adept at that sort of thing and need to take the extra time and make the extra effort to get a successful website going. It would be nice to be among the former, yes, but there is nothing wrong with being among the latter and it is no reason to stop trying and concede defeat.
Hard work can overcome the most daunting of tasks. I personally have made so much progress here, simply by working hard at the training and lessons. Sometimes I have to do a single lesson up to three times before I understand it but eventually I do and now I have a great website well on its way.
So, my colleagues who feel they don't have what it takes to be successful here I say, just keep trying, just keep learning, just keep asking questions, just keep moving, just keep pressing on, but whatever you do, JUST DON'T GIVE UP.

Thank You for the reminder, I too was falling into that frustration as well as letting life's hurdles bring me down. After much soul searching I have decided to start fresh and no matter what stay the course.
Glad you appreciate the post and that you have found the spirit to keep at. My vocal training coach uses the term "sticktoitiveness". That is definitely what is needed.
Your words are very encouraging to others. Let me know if I can be of any help to you. Good luck.

I especially love your blog here and the quote. Hard work will make you go places.
Here's a quote from Kyle/Carson; you may have heard it already: "I've never seen anyone fail that didn't quit."........ Just thought I would throw that one in there too as it also relates to hard work.
Have an excellent week ahead.:)
Thanks for the feedback and encouragement Jenna. Many blessings to you.
