WA Affiliate Program
Updated

If somebody goes through your affiliate link and ends up buy something else on the site, do you get the commission? If you do, how long is the time span that they can buy somet

Each affiliate program can be different, for WA you get your commission on the 1st of the month when all that is required has been completed.

Unlike WA where you can set the limit before you get paid other programs have their own limit where you have no options to set.
for example, some may state you need to earn at least $50 before you get paid your commission.

The same for time spam each program has its own period on when a commission is paid along with what I stated above.

Best to read the T&C of the affiliate program you are with. Not all are the same

hey thanks for the reply,

Maybe I asked the question incorrectly or you're answering it and I'm just not understanding. So amazon for example. If someone clicked on my amazon affiliate link, but then they end up buying a different product than i advertised on amazon after they clicked my affiliate link. DO i get the commission for the amazon buy still?

Thanks

If say you promote a computer they click your link which takes them to Amazon but they feel they want to look around at what else it there and they may prefer to buy a TV you will get the commission on the purchase of the TV even though you did not promote it.
Regardless if they purchased the computer or not you link is valid for anything they purchase during the cookie period which is normally within 24hr

awesome thank you!!

Most welcome

Hey, so I watched the video on how to input ads manually to each post with ad inserter. It worked for the first day, but now its not working. My javascript is enabled, my code

Interesting, sorry I have no idea about this. In fact, I was going to apply for Google Adsense today but, I never knew you had to add code to every single post, that you want the ad to appear on. I am just dreading the day if I did happen to get approved. I am following this question becuase, I need to know what to expect myself.

Thanks for asking this.

hey so there are ways to have google adsense add them automatically on all your posts. I just choose to do it manually so I can make sure to get relevant ads on my site

Oh okay, thank you for letting me know this. I really appreciate it.

I'm currently beginning to dive into the affiliate programs in my training and I want to make sure I display affiliate links in an SEO friendly way.

So, should I minimiz

You don't want more than 1 to 3 affiliate links in a post, but I'm going to tell you this too, you don't want affiliate links in every post as Google will definitely not like that.

You don't have to review every product, but you do want to review products that you find well worth your time or those to stay away from. Remember, you're doing this for the benefit of others and the more truthful and honest reviews you have, the more people will start to trust you and want to come to your site more often.

Keep going through the training and doing the asks as you're going along. It will help you immensely and keep adding content to your site, but helpful content.

Hey thank you I really appreciate it!

I'm trying to be as helpful as i can with money only far in the background, and I don't want to appear like I'm spamming people. But I do want to direct them towards the products that I trust. Can i create a product page to lead them to? Where I give a short review of a bunch of products?

Also, is it ok if I put a good amount of links, but not affiliate links, on all of my posts? I know that sounds ridiculous but since I hadn't gotten to the affiliate network part of the training, I was just putting links to try and help people towards quality products.

Thanks

Michael

A product page is good and there's nothing wrong with links in your posts. Don't put a ton in there, but I will tell you Google likes when you have internal links, meaning links to other content or pages on your site because you're telling Google "Hey, I've got other valuable information on my site that people will want to read".

Some external links are fine, but it's better if you have more internal links than external links. Hope this helps you.

it does tremendously!

Thank you so much for taking the time to give me a good answer. I really appreciate it!

Michael

You're very welcome, glad to help out :)

No, using them for blogs is not allowed.
