I became a premium member today - my expectations!
I finally decided to put my money where my mouth is. "Why?", you ask. It's simple really. I am seeking proper training to learn the intricacies of a new skill. One thatshould open up a whole new world for me. In today's society, you've got to pay to play any game you want to. Heck, it costs more to watch than to play. As a spectator, you get to live vicariously through the players' accomplishments. During the entire period of the game, you get the right to imagine which player you want to be. You enthusiastically "score" whenever the player scores a winning point. You jump enthusiastically as "your" team wins. You "party" heartily (or not) as your team progresses through the match. You run the whole gamut of emotions over something you are simply imagining you are a part of. Me, I want to be in the game. I bought a ticket to play for real.
What are my expectations? I expect to win, whatever it takes. I am surrounded by team members here. Some have been playing this game for a long time. I expect them to give me some pointers on how to play and what pitfalls to avoid. Others, like me, are newbies here. Like me, they have excited imaginations but not necessarily the skills to execute the moves they imagine. Some of us will stay the course and some will retire hurt. I pray that I will stay the course, because I've seen the size and sparkle of the trophies that the winners receive. I expect to become a winner.
