The Power Being Thankful

While I may actually blog about my WA progress or internet marketing type topics from time to time, I should tell you not to be surprised if that doesn't happen often. My passion is personal growth and I have learned that as I learn to manage myself the world becomes a much nicer place to live!

I have been reminded in recent days about the power of being thankful. Imagine what a difference it would make in your day if you turned the things you often complain about into a thank you! Instead of complaining about the traffic you could be thankful you can drive yourself where you are going. Or that you have good streets to drive on, Or that the traffic lights work as well as they do. Instead of complaining about the slow speed of the cashier who happens to be training, be thankful that someone is willing to do the job, Or that you will have an opportunity to encourage someone making a new start. (does that sound familiar?)

A well placed thank you can go along way to lifting someone's spirit. They in turn will more than likely be pleasant with the next person they come in contact with. You may have been the only person to show appreciation for their efforts to serve. Yes it may be their job, all the more reason to say thank you. I promise you will be remembered, and as a fringe benefit will be greeted with a smile the next time they see you.

Instead of complaining that you "have to" do something, how about being thankful that you "get to" do something? Thankful for the experience you will gain, the knowledge you will gain the skills you may learn. A slight change in your perspective can produce a powerful change in your life and attract more good to you than you can imagine. Let's be real, who would you rather be around, a thankful person or a complainer?
