A Little Help From My WA Family

Okay, I'm just going to come out and say it. I need some help. WANT may be a better word actually. I've found my first niche and product(s) and I've begun my first site. I've even open some channels of traffic through various sources( listed below).

Well, through socializing with my WA family and checking out some of your progress it was brought to my attention that there isn't a place in WA specificlly designed to display our sites for the sole purpose of critiquing and advice.

I know we all are able to post a link to our sites on our Profiles, but that just leaves our sites exposed without any clearly defined purpose.

I think there should be a display or showcase area within the WA "halls" where we can post links to our sites that are in development or even complete as far as we believe, solely for the purpose of getting honest feedback from those among us who are more knowlegable in this business.

And why do I bring this up? Because I could use some first hand advice on what could be improved on my site. I mean there are things that I'd like to do with it that I just have no clue about. And I absolutely know that there are things that I have no clue about that I should be doing.

To ask any one person or even any number of people specificlly seems a bit awkward and I'm fully prepared to accept that I may be alone in this idea. But I don't think I am. So here it is for all the world to see(and yes, you can Google it. I think it's actually #2 first page QSR).

If, by chance, you take the time to follow these links and give any feedback, I ask you not to spare my feelings. I'm a big boy. I can take it.

Thanks in advance

- Mr.Niceguy

When you go to pages select Quick Edit NOT Edit. You'll find a check box that states "Allow Comments" Uncheck. You have to do that for each page. Thanks to Jay for showing me how to do this and now I was able to pass it on to someone else.

Well.. that was easy enough;)

This is my opinion only - I depsie the "Leave a Reply" at the bottom of my pages so I always remove it. I would put a picture of you on the about page if possible. If not something human not mechanical.

How do you remove the " Leave a Reply" section?

Move the You Tube Video to the Top. Take the 1st three sentences and don't put spaces between them. Put the video right after them. Make sure the video is visible above the fold. A picture would also help but I think the video at the top is priority. Yes - Remove that side bar

Done, done, and done! Well. gotta figure out how to add a picture. Any idea where to get pics(free would be nice) that're okay to use on our sites?

Hi there,
Looked at your site and liked it. Points from Cham below are relevant, but all in I found it okay. We can all improve as we go (I went though this one over a period of four weeks with my site), but you have made a great start so go for it,
Regards
Hudson

Hi
I too looked at your site and I don't have anything to add from what Cham said below. apart from be aware that too many short sentences can sometimes make it difficult to work out the point of what your saying. I had to re read the beginning several times.

Your twitter page - difficult to comment because you haven't really started to develop it. However, I would advise you at some time to chose a background that is more relevant to your topic. You also need to tweet regularly with different things to make it worthwhile.

Best wishes

Beverley

thanks for the advice. I just opened the Twitter account before going to work yesterday and there hasn't been much to Tweet about since. And I changed the backgroung theme on my site after reading chamaltatis' comments. I figured it wouldn't look as boring since I don't know how to add photos. And about the short sentences, I never would have thought that was an issue if I hadn't asked. Other peoples' perspectives are important. Thanks again Beverley.

Hey there! First off, you're right, we can tell Kyle and Carson that they will create a specific place where anyone can place his or her own site for a review. You did a good thing though in asking help through your blog. You can also do so through chat or the forum...

Anyway, I had a peek at your site and it looks neat. Congratulations for your first start! However here are just some suggestions that you can do to work more on it:

1. Place a photo in your home page (like an image of an electric conversion kits for bike).

A neat site looks professional but it also looks boring if it only has black and white texts.

2. Change your home page title from ElectricConversionKitsforBikes.com to to "Electric Conversion Kits For Bike."

I know you are targeting "Electric Conversion Kits For Bike" keyword so use it as your home page title. It is also great to use that keyword at least once in your article. I usually use the keyword in the first paragraph of my article.

3. Change your sidebar or simply remove it.

I like the "search" in your sidebar but I'm not for "archives" and "categories." You can either remove your sidebar for the visitors to focus more on your home page content, or change your sidebar content to better things such as Recent posts, Facebook widget, etc... Just don't place ads yet if you are not yet on page one. In fact, if I were you, I will still remove the "shop" page for now. It is harder to rank in google if your site is full of affiliate links. Just add more contents, backlinks, etc. and when your site appears on page 1, that's the time you place those affiliate links.

Well, there are many other things that you can still do but I'm not sure if where are you now in the course. Just continue to work on your site and just ask some help from the community if you need some.
