If you are going to build a list, the only way to go about this properly is using an autoresponder service like aweber.com or getresponse.com.
If you are serious about creating email marketing campaigns, then you need the proper tools and in my opinion out of the box WP plugins just are not going to do your business justice.

Another quick question. I'm not entirely sure that I want to build a list, so to speak. My site is primarily history based - I put all of the information on there, and do not send out a separate newsletter (to my 3 subscribers - haha).
Is a list entirely necessary?

Maybe someone can help other than me in the community because i am just starting myself and i need to put a plugin in for my subscribers also. I saw your question about your site. I went to it to take a look. From what I gathered you are wanting to add a "subscriber" plugin to register guests information? I tried to search for some plugins on wordpress, but the servers are down (???). I have a suggestion for your site, as I also have a sports site for local sports here in Orange County, CA (Ducks, Angels), Try to add some color if you can with your theme or switch to another theme and play around. I keep several I like downloaded to install whenever. If you want, check out the theme for my sports website for color/contrast Sports-Sports and More sports at http://www.moneymadedaily.com. Go to plugins, new, and try searching for new plugins using various search terms for subscribers, or forms, etc. Also a good spellchecker I always install is the Tiny Spellchecker MCE. Search new for 'spellchecker'. Its nice to have that. Anyways, good luck and if I wanna bet, I know where to go!!!

Hi check this discussion about it. You will get some tips. Any free autoresponders out there? I'm also interested in being able to connect with people who subscribe to my site not so much for selling since I have a book review site but just to let them know when there is a new post.

Using Forefront theme, www.newspapercapers.com. My widgets menu shows search
Are you editing the correct widget area and saving them? There may be multiple widget options and locations. Double check all options under Appearance and also in Widgets.
Try editing them under appearance, you might have a menu set up to show certain things, but disregarded deleting the other widgets. Make sure you're using your primary menu bar as well, as this could be the main issue. You may have created one, but the primary one is the one selected to show.

I had a managed wordpress on godaddy (newspapercapers) which had multiple posts on it. I redirected the dns to point to WA and created the site. But now all of my other posts ar
You have to transfer the files over first, THEN do the DNS stuff. But tommy is right that WA hosting can do it for you.
Go to siterubix the blue button and put in a support ticket and they will transfer it over for you.
