my website is blank with no pics ,why is that?
Most probably you need to set a "Featured Image".

Can you show us an example page where you added pictures, published the content, but the pictures are not showing up?

When I have a problem more then likely someone has already asked the question. So lately I haven't been able to ask ,they are answered!
Are you referring to the Theme Photo that you thought would download along with the Theme? If so, the photo you saw when you decided on the theme does not always come with the download. It's being used as a placeholder and to show you what the site could look like. All you have to do is go to Customize and add your own photos.
Have you tried to add your pictures? If so try looking at this 07 Adding Images, videos and stuff
