March 18th, 2020 small village in rural Ireland rekindles the symbol of hope & community spirit

Last Update: March 18, 2020

This one brought a tear to my eyes - tonight March 18th in the 'calm before the storm' a symbol of hope and community spirit was rekindled in a small town in Co Roscommon, my county in Ireland.

There have been some horrendous decisions made by the Irish and other governments, the spin doctors are out in force to use this 'black swan' virus event to their advantage [if indeed it is entirely accidental], there's been bad selfish behaviour by rich and young and everything in between sprawling videos of hoarding and panic buying of toilet paper and partying and defiance but as usual mostly bad stuff makes the news, there's a lot of good stuff going on too and more to come.

Heroes are beginning to appear for what they truly are, acts of astounding kindness, supermarkets opening special hours for elderly only...humans at their best are impressive indeed, this is an opportunity to take things back somewhat from industry as it's bad decisions have led us to this - though it'll be a fight as industry uses it as yet anothers opportunity to sell a solution...game on!

Good luck to everyone.

- remember the healthy and young come out of this very well, the old and ill need antioxidants, according to an integrative doctor showing the research and according to the herbalists also hitting this from another angle with herbs instead of supplements. But industry is about profits not free or inexpensive solutions, that research has been ignored 20 years, bad farming practices that allow viruses to mutate are thriving, tech that weakens immune systems being rolled out as people are locked down in quarantine literally small cells appearing outside their windows - but if anything has the opportunity to change things, this event has.

Good Morning Mary,

In the meantime, Mother Earths is showing sings of recuperating from the abuse we caused her. In China, the air is clearing up. Venice dirty water is becoming transparent again. Big cities in Spain do not measure air pollution anymore and when I look out of my window Malagas industrial area is not sending smog up the valley.
All these are positive side effects of the crisis. It would be nice if it could stay like this as it really should make people think.

Greetings from the south of Spain,

Taetske

Hello, Lady Mary! Nice to see you again. I haven't been very active on WA for about a year due to a plethora of life's changes, some planned, others unexpected. Sounds like things in Ireland are similar to here in FL. I was in Lowes, a hardware superstore to try to find a larger pair of gloves for my partner, and saw a guy with a shopping cart FULL of 24 roll packages of TP! Wonder if he's selling it online for a gouging price per roll!

What a nice surprise when you saw the tree of hope lit in that small town. Thanks for sharing some good news in this sea of doom and gloom.

You, too, LMM! Did you see Taetske's post about the global meditation to heal the planet and eradicate the Corona virus that is taking place world wide tonight? It's scheduled for 10:45PM EDT tonight, but I think the link has a conversion time on it. I hope you can join us. I'll send you the link if you're interested.
Stay safe and well, my friend.

Random acts of kindness are going to be needed as things progress.

So much money has been wiped out already and so many people are either out of work or soon will be that the world will be a different place once this is over.

Actions like the community spirit you have shown us are important to keep up morale.

Thank you.

Hi Alex, yes people need to remember and hold on - the place vvill be different and that battle is being fought, some vvant it to be a high tech 5G vvorld vvhere it seems all industries align to play us this vvay and that and common sense and decency is gone but there is definitely a surge of people coming together to stop that and take it back from industry like never before

I've got dried elderberries for one thing, and I make a beverage from them. Nice to hear about this village!

I also had made some "fire cider" based on raw apple cider vinegar, with garlic, horseradish, and onion that steeped 3 weeks before being decocted and is now in the refrigerator, where I take a tablespoon most days.

No but there should be some on youtube.

I just cut up the things, put them in a quart of an organic raw apple cider, think it was Dr Bronners, and kept it on a kitchen counter not in the sunlight. Two or three times a day I picked it up and shook it. Then after 3 weeks, I strained it. The veggies went in our compost. The recipe also called for hot cayenne pepper and I will add that to the mix next time.

I got the idea from a book by herbalist Rosemary Gladstar, which has a lot of variations done by her students and other people.
