I'd like some clarity on the current groups trend in here
I've taken a couple of weeks off from being 'active' in WA to figure out my way forward for 2018 and I've got some questions, first up:
Groups and Mentors?
1. Is Kyle's accountibility group different from the one Bo announced?
...or rather the updated one Bo announced having gone and spoken with the owners in hindsight after he already set up, as he has now posted that he has spoken to them and something is being rolled out in line with them...
2. I also just read something written by an ambassador in these terms:
"This post will serve as the one-stop-shop for groups until we come up with something better..."
- How official is that?
- "we", do we blog as individuals, do we speak for others, do we speak for Kyle?
- Does that ambassador badge carry authority?
I'd genuinely like some clarity, and can't imagine how confusing it must be to a newbie.
Of course it is easy to say no there is no authority with an ambassador badge, but having been an ambassador for so long and having watched ambassador behavior over the years I'd have to say yes, they/we have hell of a lot of authority and influence in here when it comes to interacting with other members and all unvetted and unofficial and actually of all groups maybe it's the ambassadors need an accountability group of some sort [my second question coming up...]
***One solution here may be if Kyle had an official live noticeboard so we can distinguish the official line from what can appear at times to be official but really may not be.
Individual members may contribute a lot and have great ideas and define the direction of the community in many ways, and be a great help to many people, but ultimately ambassadors and members are not vetted, anyone starting a group imo we need to know certain things before jumping in and following.

Hi Mary, thanks for this and agree with all you have stated!
I have no interest in joining any group unless it's one through Kyle or Carson. Seeing a 'sea' of blog posts that are repetitive on the Activity Dashboard is too much and if I was to read them all I wouldn't get my work done. I actually started to read a couple until I saw the multiple listings then stopped.
I haven't been as active and if I drop out of Ambassadorship it's fine. I don't need to be among many that have made their way up there in ways that show what their real purpose to become one.
I gradually became an Ambassador through my helping other members.
There should be a test done prior to becoming and Ambassador.
Well said Patsy and like yourself I became an Ambassador by doing a lot of hard work and helping people. It took me over a year to reach there.
I think a test would be a good thing. Xx

Hi Mary, thank you for initiating this discussion and raising your concerns. I love your idea of a notice board so everyone can see what is official (coming from Kyle and Carson) and what is not.
I have been with WA for 2 years now and have learned who I want to follow because of their experience and success in affiliate marketing and I also unfollowed a few people (including Ambassadors) because of irrelevant posting of countless blogs unrelated to building a business; just for the sake of posting something.
But it takes time, especially for Newbies, to figure things out since it can be so overwhelming getting started here in WA due to an information overload.
I would love to see what Kyle has to say regarding the matter you have brought up.
By the way, I also have expressed an interest in joining Kyle's group. He is an authority and has obviously built a successful business. I wouldn't join a group offered by someone I don't even know or hasn't shown what their success is and how they have achieved it.

There might be answers in the following blog by Alex Evans, most notably in the comments. I also left a comment here and an exhibit that such groups are not new to WA over time and that sometimes, an idea from another member can influence what the owners do. I my comment I made mention that perhaps these early attempts might get implemented by the owners themselves.
It stands that the introduction of Kyle's Accountability Group may have been such an influence or sheer co-incidence, either way, this is not anything new, though for some reason, it has caused much confusion amongst members like I've never seen before.
I wrote my comment before ever hearing about the new roll-out, which was dated yesterday. Rather than re-iterating it here, I hope the following helps - especially the discussions that ensued over these new groups... Wealthy Affiliate What Can I Say I Would Like Some Feed Back Please.
thanks Daniel, I had not seen that blog, the official stuff really needs a noticeboard so we can see what is and is not rolled out legitimately. Alex rose some important issues that were on my mind but I see so many people didn't understand where he was coming from.
Groups within groups is a facebook thing these days, but it needs to be made clear just who is who, where the boss is in all of this, and who is going solo
members need to know who has authority and who hasn't and the ambassador endorsement both current groups have at the moment is unfortunate, as most people remain unaware of recent similar sounding groups that were quite dangerous also involving ambassadors
you are correct that the platform is evolving and members themselves drive that, but respect for the owners is a must, and realization that ambassadors are really only regular members in here is another thing
Hi Mary , let me just say I am not on the level you are . I just want to bring you up to speed as you requested in your post blog. Bo said as he looks on a couple of years , he might be trimming down his workload some. And he thought before he does that, he would like to impart what he has learned to new people who are looking to achieve monetary success and sent out a post to his followers stating such asking who would be interested. Well, there were more people than he anticipated. I guess at that point he talked to Carson and Kyle to check with them .
At about the same time Dave Sw was thinking about some thing similar because he could see a need for a mentoring group that would help people in their different niche's. Dave's groups would allow for a wider spectrum of topic and stages of development. This would necessitate more people who have achieved some level of online success as volunteers to give the groups direction and accountability for progress. And to make sure they don't drift outside the boundaries of WA.
One of the stipulations from Carson and Kyle was that these groups are to be INCLUSIONARY. Any body who wants in can get in. Bo has told his group that they have to blog everyday to their followers what the goals were for that day so people could follow along. And Daves situation is designed to accept more people , but would require volunteers as I said , who have achieved some level of success to guide the different groups.
Both Bo and Dave are doing this in the idea of giving back for what they have been able to achieve .
Kyle, I guess, decided that seeing the thirst for knowledge toward success,he was going to do something also. This is just a guess because I opened my gmail acct and there was this notice of what he was going to do. So I know nobody was trying to keep you out of the loop. It was only a matter of a couple of days that this was formulated. And since you are not a beginner , you did not get notified right away.
I hope I have been able to clarify what is going on. I hesitated to wright this because I am still new here , But I noticed that nobody had addressed your concerns yet and that is important to all the Ambassadors I am sure. In John Assaraf's facebook membership platform I once started a group within his group, it was allowed, but it was known to everyone else that I was not speaking on behalf of the owners, in here there is a lot of confusion as to who is who and what is what,
And then 'who is Dave?' and 'who is Bo'?, who is any ambassador that we should trust and invest time in them?
And what sort of authority are we projecting in here to the entire community / referrals joining up when we create a group and speak like we are speaking on behalf of the owners or platform?
Socially active people become ambassadors, people who have not been vetted in any way, I'd still like things to be a lot more official or defined in terms of a solo effort, the badge still endorses...
we've had other ambassadors start things and move people right off the platform, our referrals off the platform...so things need clarified at all stages, and in addition we know how many people play silly strategies for rank too, those people will hop on any group bandwagon pretty quickly
At the moment there's an assumption of authority on the part of anyone who does this to the community, and sometimes they may have the expertise to back their efforts, sometimes not - and if groups are the way ahead then I wish Kyle would look around at some other members NOT currently most vocal on the dashboard who would be good leaders
ultimately it's a place where I invite people as referrals, the group trend with mentors that haven't proved themselves to the group other than be an ambassador boggles me as a concept,
see - it's putting trust in the ambassador concept - and Kyle has not set any baseline for that at all other than be active...
Who will start the next group!? Should we all have groups? Has anyone thought out what this does to the original concept of helping on the platform?
The whole follower thing too, there are no real entitlements with reaching out to followers in here...another subject for another time!
Hi Mary ; I cannot address your legitimate concerns here . I just wanted to answer your initial questions as best as I understand them. Rest assured that I am not a social climber, in the first place I definitely haven't been back long enough to even get my own website up yet . But, might I suggest you pull up Bo tipton and DaveSw's profiles and I think you will be able to get to their blogs on this subject to determine for yourself that they are actually doing this for the right reasons. At least it appears that way to me. Both of these men have very active business sites and this is an additional item on their to do list. Again I can't speak for Kyle, I do hope to get in on his group since it deals with Affiliate Bootcamp and that is the niche' i am working on. respectfully , Scott (stawhu)

I'd like to see the potential for group leadership expand to other members and not just those most vocal on the dashboard - that is just one personality type and a fraction of the bigger membership and expertise here at WA ;)
HI Mary ; Just saw your concern in MKearns answer. I think if you want to to join in your guidance would certainly be welcome. Check out the blogs on DaveSw's profile blogs and see what you think. Here is the thing If I do a blog I really don't know who in WA will get it. Will it be all members, Will it be only my followers, Will it be my followers and who I follow, Is it only Carson and Kyle and they determine who gets it ( I really don't think it is the last but it means I really don't know how the in house blog posts are set up.) Maybe I missed it in the training, Maybe I forgot because I have been working on getting the bugs worked out on my about me page.
I say this to let you know I do not think you were being excluded, I am pretty sure that Dave is supposed to get info out for group leaders. Like I said He has several sites of his own that keep him very busy. He posted a blog just the other day praising site content and how it is going to save him and his partner 40 hours a week.
Because of that saving, they have entered 65,000 + words on their various commerce sites in one week. He said they were previously doing it in the wordpress platform then migrating all the work to the individual websites. But I do know your knowledge and expertise would be invaluable for whatever group you would want to participate in. Thanks for Listening Scott (stawhu)

you are a perfect example of how new people put trust in ambassadors, and the influence that comes with the badge and activity on the dashboard...that's why I think ambassadorship needs thought out way more than it has been on this platform...

Thanks Mary for your observation. I paused when I read the post but I did not make anything out of it so I left. What you have done is the right thing so to correct a small leaven before leavens the whole lot.
