How Far Have The Rules At WA Really Evolved?

In the past these things were all not allowed on the platform, but today I see them in use freely, more worryingly by one member in particlar:

  • Personal Brand
  • Signature
  • Self Promotion
  • Marketing campaign on the dashboard

These things were not in the rules before, but I think it is obvious to anyone that these things would not be allowed:

  • Converting members to your own platform
  • Moving members off the WA hosting
  • Having a team of members in here working to refer people to for a commission
  • Having a team advertise for you on the dashboard here frequently

And yet at least two posts this week were written by people working for the person doing all of these things and were extremely emotional about 'being afraid they'd be reported as spam for praising this member'.

I think it is clear that praising someone is not an issue to do with spam, but all of the above breaches of the rules and blatant disregard by a group undermining the platform and all our referrals in here is a serious cause for concern.

Happy Pinktober on the dashboard WA?

Thanks for the post. I will take note. I received emails inviting me to subscribe to their mailing list. It wasn't too pushy or anything but is that against the rule here? Just want to clarify so that moving forward, I won't make any similar mistake myself either.

Yes, please report that to Kyle and hit the spam button. Absolutely no one here has the right to ask you to subscribe to their email list. What a red flag.

We are being trained here to make websites and get traffic on google, not black hat sneaky traffic pinching people on this platform.

Thanks for sharing.

I am 100% in concurrance with MozMary - NOBODY here at WA has the right to solicit other members into their email list. REPORT THEM!

Thank you for this information, Mary

I like this community too much to take a chance of getting kicked out.

I’ve seen it too Mary. I hope they will do something to stop it. I’ve had a couple instances where I reported spam for people (not newbies) sharing their own links for personal gains and those posts were still there about a week later so I figure they don’t care so why should I bother! IDK

Wow, sorry they didn't listen to you at that time. I guess with all the new rollouts to the platform the past couple of weeks they were really busy. But for sure keep letting them know, we all need to speak out. See how many people came to this blog saying they saw it, we are stronger together than on our own :)

We've had our differences, Mary, but I have to give you kudos for having the guts to say it. Now this'll either lead to you getting a less than Christian crucifixion from the disciples doing it, or your thread will just be quietly removed, Big Brother style, from the Activity feed.

I usually try to avoid the BS in this community but this was cringe worthy even for WA.

thank you, yes it needed to be said and it's my head on the block

btw when they remove a blog it's usually to try to help the community, or prevent bad backlinks for their SEO

Well, I will certainly support you in argument if required.

I don't think your head will go flying. After all, you're only stating the obvious.

Hi! Mary,
I hope I am not breaching the rules/regulations although I have asked anyone ahead of me in digital knowledge to help me how to move my www.ebettercare.com into a higher level of e-marketing world with no intent to sell anything and also offer Free professional service for WA members if they wish. Please look into my posts and emails so to judge if I have incurred violating WA rules and regulations. If yes, please guide me how to avoid it. To be honest, at times, I could not discern well about promotion.

I am here to abide the rules and stay for a long haul. I do appreciate your guidance.

Best

James

James, it's fine to ask for help, just be careful who may offer it for a price. The platform has a feedback area for websites, and the training is geared toward helping you get to a higher level. Feel free to ask, and make sure to master the training, it is specifically geared towards SEO and traffic. And Kyle is in the process of bringing out updated training, so that means we all should go over it again. My blog post is on something very specific happening at the moment, nothing normal or general.

Thanks for commenting what I have done as revealed, suggesting no obvious rule violation. I will certainly keep any interaction with no money or sale involved, but FREE service or support to our WA members with gratitude. In fact, I do not rely on money-making for a living now, but I insist to make the adventure inside WA to fulfill its duty as a successful e-marketer as soon as possible. So, keeping on watching and coaching www.ebettercare.com is always welcome.

Best...

James, everyone appreciates sharing and being helped, I should add that we have a designated place under our profile to put our website names, and if we post our website name in our blogs here that is against the rules.

Thank you, Clear, but may I say, "Go to my websites in WA file"? or some other ways for easier connecting.

Thanks for sharing, Mary.

Must have missed some postings, are you addressing them on their behavior, Mary?

nothing personal, just all of the above is a real concern and gaining momentum and has a predictable trajectory, no winners in this, especially members getting caught up in it

Last week I reported 2 for spamming, when people are newbies, I send them a PM, but long-term members who are flouting the rules, I report

I guess I am not in the loop - don't know what all these things are that you are referring too, however I did get contacted about some kind of a team of members. I just said "No thank you" and that that took care of it.

wow, you should report that to Kyle to help protect others

glad you didn't fall for it

They push the envelop but always risk being bounced from WA
