I started my lifelong sales career selling Fuller Brush products door to door in Michigan, the month I turned 16...January, 1966. I turned my paper route over to my brother Ron, and would suit up after wrestling practice to knock on doors and give away free samples and gifts to my neighbors in Roseville where I lived with my parents and 6 brothers and sisters until I married my high school sweetheart Regina Beth Duncan in 1971.

Regina presented me with my first of 3 daughters Amy, almost on the first anniversary of our wedding in 1972. Kelly arrived in 1976, and Holly broke out in 1982. Today we have 3 granddaughters and 1 grandson, with a great son in law Joel.

I enjoy tennis, skiing, basketball, bike rides and traveling to distant islands like Aruba and Hawaii. I am not able to practice those interests as much these days, since I am my wife's caregiver since she became disabled following an auto accident May 2013.

We do get to see our 3 granddaughters frequently, since they live only a block away here in Rochester Hills, Michigan. They are 12, 10 and 8, are best friends and spend every day together as homeschool students taught by their awesome mom Kelly, who is an awesome teacher with degrees in business and interior design. Her business involvement these days is doing the books for her husband's small construction and remodeling company.

Most of my sales career has been face to face direct sales, with several years raising money for start up companies before the dot com bubble burst, followed by 911 which wiped out all my leveraged positions and left me broke, with lots of unhappy investors who I had introduced to these start up companies.

Telephone sales of landline phone services for Talk America became my biggest success, with my own modified mlm compensation platform, converting satisfied customers into affiliate marketing partners in 20 states. A year into the venture I was making $20k a month, with almost 1000 affiliates out of 25000 customers, and by the second year, had 2000 affiliates with double the monthly income which lasted for quite a while before the 2008 bubble hit...

All good things must come to an end, so the saying goes....and after many changes in telecom regulation, company buyout, and lawyers breaking contracts on technicalities, I found myself once again looking for a "dog that would hunt" so to speak. A product or service good enough to sell to my mom, that I could make good money promoting, and building a team for success.

I was involved in several MLM companies, made some good income for a time, but management either was too inexperienced or was dishonest, and a system built on trust and "paying it forward" crumbles quickly when those at the bottom swimming upstream lose heart and drop out. It is amazing how fast you can drop from $10 k a month to zero...LOL

I tried some internet lead generation for a credit repair MLM company, and had some good success, until my wife's disability forced me to care for the love of my life and turn the leads over to other agents, none of whom could close sales face to face with my almost 90% ratio, so I stopped working on SEO and free placements a couple years ago but still get leads which I turn over other reps.

I decided after looking at some newer networking programs combining crowdfunding and bitcoin, where you never see most of your prospects, but recruit and train using video tutorials, that internet marketing and possibly affiliate marketing would be a good long term solution for me, allowing me to use my love of new technology, and 50 years of marketing and people skills, and after using ebay and amazon extensively the last few years for shopping from home, that it was time for me to stop feeling sorry for myself, and get to work.

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

Married to the same woman for almost 45 years....and counting. The accomplishment is that she stayed married to a self employed guy who was always looking for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
