I feel where you are coming from, WA provokes extreme mood swings in me. When I'm up I'm really up and then I'll see something that convinces me that I'm completely wrong in my endeavours and I crash through the floor. Then I see something different again and I end up confused. On balance I think if you stick with the plan it will work. I haven't made a penny yet, I have a lot to learn an a lot to improve but I do believe I will get there, even if I have to rip up what I have done and start over.

I think what ElizabethCu1 says below is the best advice, it's certainly what I am leaning towards.

As for your friend on facebook, the grass is always greener. Without more detail on their business plan its hard to tell. I bet you could go through your house now, gather up a bunch of stuff you don't really need and sell it all on ebay in a week, or facebook for that matter. Doesn't mean you could replicate it all again next week though. Another ting is people talk about profit when they mean gross profit or even turnover so take it all with a pinch of salt or else ask your friend to teach you their secret. It's up to you, your fate is in your hands alone.

I know sometimes is frustrating as hell but see it like this, you can get anything in life as long you help people to get what they want. Forget about money ( I know it is hard but hear me out ) but focus on the value you give to people, if you help people achieve their dreams, goals and solve their problems you naturally become successful is like gravity :)

Always think what is in it for them, forget about I, focus on them, put your heart out and give as sincere value as you can. Hope that helps :)

You are working to your time scale, not your friends. They are selling a product, I dont know if it is a product they have made themselves or they are reselling... But this is not about selling products ( it can be) its about affiliate marketing so promoting other peoples stuff or WA... so a different market. Your work will pay off, but not today.. If you have a particular product you can sell then do that as well ( I have now, I didnt have when I started here but even then its not a get rich quick) Do not despair, keep going with what you know has worked for others, it will work for you, just in time. I have made money here with my niche site, but I have only just started promoting WA and that is probably the quickest of the two trainings offered to get money.

Marketing to Facebook also requires daily work. Social media is something you can add to your business if you have not done so yet.
But what we aim for here is to earn passive income. Therefore it is important to work on your sites regularly and apply all that you have learned.
This results in organic traffic from Google and the more content you write, the more keywords you can rank in Google.
Almost like a best seller book you have spent two years writing - it becomes a bestseller and now you live of royalties from that book for its lifetime. (Note: I said almost. You will still need to work on your site but your keywords can rank for some time without any more work to it.)
So with passive income you can get massive traffic without effort once your keywords rank.
Facebook is an active and daily grind to my mind. So once you stop or you are ill, or in some situation where you are unable to work the business on Facebook - your earnings stop.

I am here almost 3 months and have not done all the lessons you have so far, but by implementing what I have learned, I have managed to sign up two people through my website to Wealthy Affiliate through organic traffic.

I am still new but the amount of keywords ranking in Google from my site increases weekly.

I have tried to make money online for years without much success - Trust me: You are at the right place receiving the correct information in order to receive a sustainable income through Affiliate marketing.

Remember: You cannot have a sustainable income without a website. But you can always also benefit from other traffic as well - but getting your website sorted is worth gold.

I feel your frustration. Here is what I did. I stopped. Reviewed those in WA who DO make money. Reviewed their blogs and WHAT THEY DID and how they write. You know...like shadowing.

Then I reviewed my website against really top ones in the sameinterest area. I changed my site look to be more like theirs. Even though my content is different, I rearranged my content. My traffic increased a bit (only started doing this a week ago.
Give shadowing a mentor a try! We have experts in the community...copy them...not me...lol...

There is nothing to worry about, your friend too is working hard as you. Everything that happens to you is on your TIME, you can't compare or define your success to someone else's.

I have seen people on WA who have started earning within a month and some who have started earning after 3 years too!

Also, to tell you on a personal note, I have been with WA for about 9 months, working as much as I can and still haven't made a dime yet but have not allowed this to put me down.

Yes, I do have a few down days but I have never looked back and thought of quitting.

Before you think that your friend made "easy' money
and you also can make it "easily".

Think!

For how long does your friend have the facebook
page for? few months? years?

Has he invested any money in FB ads to grow the
following of the facebook fan page?

How much he has invested to buy the products
to promote in his page?

Sure he made $1000 profit, but to make that profit
how much was his initial investment? $2000, $5000
or $10,000?

Regarding facebook pages-it is an asset "controlled"
by facebook, they can take it away from you any
moment and even reduce the reach of Facebook pages.

With affiliate marketing, your only investment is hosting, domain and keyword research tool. In addition to that
you have to put in the elbow grease to consistently publish
quality content.

Sure, it takes time to get traffic from Google and convert
it to sales.

But the investment is less and the long term return is high,
compared to other business models.

With WA your only investment is $49/month or $359 if you
are yearly + cost of one domain.

When you publish content on your website, its your asset
and no one can take it away from you, you are in full control.
