I am at the stage at WA where I want to build a successful email list.

I have been through some training on here that says I need to send out about 3 or 4 initial emails to build a relationship with my email list.

What do I put on those emails? I am very confused.

For those that have built a successful list can you please advise me with any tips, guidance or help with how to get it right from the start.

I am looking forward to reading your responses.

I would be most grateful for any help. 🙏

The first one is a welcome email thanking them

The next might introduce you and explain about you which you can include your blog link for

Then an outline of what they can expect... Or

As I do and use a system which has it all done and is far easier :)

I am setting it all up through Mailchimp. Is that what you mean?
Thanks for the help

I have mailchimp on one site and a separate marketing system which is what I was referring too if that helps clarify

Yes mate that is good thanks.

Mail chimp might not be the best one. They do not like affiliate marketing that has to do with make money online.
I've tried mailchimp, aweber (which a lot of MMO marketers use) and I've finalized on GetResponse (because I set up a Funnel once and they used GetResponse).

I've read as far as the email sequence too
1. Welcome and free guide or ebooklet.
2. Helpful information (the get them to like you)
3. Helpful Information (the get them to like you)
4. Maybe first sales kinda pitch or affiliate link included in this one.

I've read to not try the sales until after you have "helped them" some.

Have you used Clickfunnels?

Shirley Good point and well presented on Mailchimp but I don't use it for the MMO niche at all but for something entirely different and chose it for the many benefits it pro for that specific niche

The marketing system I use is different to mailchimp and specifically geared and designed for the MMO / home business owners it was chosen 10 years ago for that reason

Yes and compared to Thrive Themes and again the Ben of both prefer Thrive

There are many opinions and strategies out there, I will however offer this one from Search Engine Journal, a well regarded and followed industry blog:

Getting to Links: 5 Tips for Successful Email Outreach (Google to get the article)

You may want to subscribe/sign up to their newsletter.

You may also want to get soe version of Mailchimp or such similar product which will help you compose and send out your E-mail campaigns.

I hope that this helps.

Blessings

Very briefly, my first email is to thank the new subscriber and describe what they can expect in future emails. I ask that they "whitelist" my email address so that future emails do not end up in the spam folder. I include a statement that promises they will receive future freebies (content, reports, checklists, etc) that I give to subscribers only.

The second email describes me and my experience and how that relates to future topics. I ask if there are any topics or issues that interest them and that they respond accordingly. This way you know what topics to address first. (It helps to segment subscribers into lists that cover the topics they want. This helps with open rates.)

Then send the subscribers with messages that provide value or great information. Tell them about new content added to your website, etc.

That’s a tremendous help. It’s sounds so simple, if only it was 😀

My experience is that the planning and initial set up is the hardest part. Then it becomes a matter of preparing subsequent emails to send.

The planning part includes deciding how often to send, whether to have a formal or informal style and how much content to include as well as how much promotional material. Another question is whether to use an autoresponder to send an automated series or just send broadcasts, which can be done on the fly or on a schedule.) Or a combination of both.

I started publishing a weekly email newsletter in August 2000 and put it out for 4 years.

So the bottom line is to add value for your readers, whether in big or small chunks.

Seth Godin puts out very short emails to his subscriber list.

This is great!
