I am thinking about getting a (not a WA affiliate) business off the ground, and I won't be blogging on it. I want it to look professional, so I am looking into getting someone
Talia, you don't need a designer. Just pick one of the many attractive themes offered here on WA. But if you need something more custom, then you can hire someone. Most of the times I've designed websites for my clients, I'm just picking an existing nice looking theme.
Yes, you can certainly use freelancers to do the work for you. Set up a separate log-in for them, and never give them any of your WA information. Or, alternately, you can have them give you the site in the form of a WP Clone backup file, which you would then install on the site yourself. If the site will require ongoing maintenance, the first option is probably the easiest.
Hi Mel,
WP Clone can only be used on the same WA server that it was saved on. There's no access to the database here so trying to restore from it fails unless it's exactly the same website on the same server.
Thanks, Marion, I didn't realize that. I appreciate the education. I thought it worked with any site, anywhere.
I love WP Clone and I've used it many, many times to successfully move websites to other hosts but it's always failed when I've tried to move a website to WA hosting.

According to other affiliates beliefs about it, why is the starter package only $0? Please answer honestly and let my readers know what you think.
Hello Talia, this is my opinion and not necessarily that of the management. When you know you have a great product and are confident that once people try it out they will purchase it, then you can afford to give the trial package for free.
A question about the starter package price of $0?

I want the first page that people see when they go to my website to be the Getting Started page. Instead I get a blank page that says nothing found and asks if I'm ready to pub
