How to write 3 or more posts a week.

Hi guys.

If you haven't read my blog about procrastination, I recommend to read this one first:

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/moritzs/blog/time-...

Now, I want to tell you how I write 3 or more blogs a week. To be honest, there are still times where I struggle to do this, but the following trick helps a lot.

Create A Threshold

We all know thresholds from affiliate marketing or adsens. ;)

But we can use thresholds for our advantage.

Now, I combine my anti procrastination technique with a threshold system.
What I do is to create a few posts without publishing them at once.
I set fixed days on which I publish a post, e.g. 3 times a week (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday).
The other days I still work on posts and safe them as drafts in Wordpress.

When a publishing day is there I just need to click on publish and my new post is online.
This can be done while I am shopping or, like tomorrow, on a weekend trip with my family, while I'm lying on the beach. It's just one click on my smartphone.

This technique takes away a lot of stress. At least for me.
Before, I always published everything I wrote immediately when it was finished.
The thing is that I don't have the same time for WA on every day. Thursdays I have time to write 2 (maybe even 3) posts, but other days I struggle to write half a post.

So, on some days I published 2 posts, but then on quite a few days I didn't publish anything.
This went so far, that my site health went down, because I didn't publish regularly.
Sometimes my "Schweinehund" took over and I only published on Thursdays and nothing on the other days!

Try It And Let Me Know If It Helps You, Too

It is a great sight when you go to the posts in your wordpress admin area and see 2-3 drafts waiting to get published.

It made my life much easier and I know from my experience that there are sometimes days where you just can't make yourself work on your site.
You rather want to read something, play a video game, watch TV or whatever it is you do in your free-time.
I always felt very bad when I didn't manage to write 3 posts a week, but with those 2 techniques it's going much better now.

What do you think about this technique?

Are you using it? Or do you know any other tricks to become more productive?

Let me know!

Yours,

Moritz

I personally do keyword research every saturday and spread them on Google calendar from monday to sunday.
Then, I force myself to write. It was tough at the beginning, but NOW it becomes second nature.

That's a great system, too!
As long as you have some sort of plan or routine things are getting easier! :)

Great info Moritz.

Thanks, Larry.

Great idea! =) =)

Kylie

Thank you.
Hope it helps. :)

It is a good thing to post your content regularly.
You can schedule a post in WordPress on your desired date and time. It is worth to try.

Cheers,
Calvin

Thanks for the tip.
I actually tried that one time, but it didn't work for me.
No idea why.
I know that many use it, but since it didn't work the one time, I just finish the drafts and click on publish when I want to publish it.
Good thing is, that this can be done from anywhere, as long as you have internet.

Great Idea, I just need to find a day where I can sit down and blast my way through 2-3 posts a week and then as you say publish a different times but its finding the time to be able to dedicate myself to such system.

What I did was just to not publish anything until I had 3 finished posts as drafts.
Then I published the first post, while already working on the next one.
I try to do at least a bit every day. Maybe some research on a topic or keywords. Write on a post, etc.
Two or three days later I publish the next post, but at this time I should already have the next draft finished to add to my threshold.
If not then you still have a small buffer to finish the post a bit later.

I guess it's a small psychological trick, because this way you actually still write 3 posts a week, but the fact that you already have something to publish in the pipeline, takes away the pressure to finish a post and publish it the same day.

No I am not working with any system, I just write when I am inspirated, and will not rest before it is published, and I hardly look at the data either, it's just not me, to work in a scheduled frame or analyse results, just love doing what I am doing.

Your way is a great way to do it, too.
But I, and I guess many other people, need some kind of plan or schedule to get things done.

My own schedule is not super strict either.
But the system above helps me to publish my targeted 3 posts a week.
I noticed that if I only write when I feel inspired, I might wait a long time for inspiration. :D

When I am not inspired I just Google and surf until I am:)

I like the idea - I'm going to give it a try.

Great!
Let me know how it goes.

Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge with us.
Much appreciated.

No problem. :)
Hope it helps someone solving the same problem that I had.

It's a great advise for those who can write 1 or 2 posts a day.
but what about others? For example for me it takes about 8 hours to write one post and I can't work more than 3-4 hours a day. Is it just me being that slow or are there others as well?
I think it's also because english is not my mother language so I need to keep checkin and finding words...
Is it good idea to have comments on my site those days that I can't publish? Even if it takes time away from writing when I give comment to others...
Good day!

This technique is especially good for people who struggle with writing posts regularly.

See, I can't write a full post everyday. So what I did was to create a threshold first (3 posts as drafts).

Now I don't have to stress myself on a publish day, because I've already created the post for that day. Of course you still have to keep writing regularly, but the drafts you have ready for publishing are a buffer for those days you can't make yourself write something.

Hope that made it more clear. :)

Edit: And about the comments: it is a good idea to get those on days you don't publish anything, too.

I can relate. I just started using the same trick and have to say its working like a charm. I am now able to publish a post everyday and sometimes two simply because I have many completed draft awaiting publication, which like you I can do from my smartphone.
Thanks for sharing this mate. I hope it inspires many people going through the consistent posting struggle.

Wachira

Hi Wachira,
really cool that you are already using this system, too.
So far it is working great for me!
Cheers.
Moritz

And for me too.
