What is YOUR Purpose for Writing?

As an educator, I can't help but realize how the training for affiliate marketing and teaching middle school students connects.

The P.I.E.

In language arts class, we often discuss the author's purpose or intent for writing. There are three categories that students are able to choose from:

PERSUADE someone to think a certain way, purchase a particular item, or do something based on all of the good information you provide.

INFORM the reader by providing detailed information that is factual which leads to the reader making an informed decision.

ENTERTAIN others by providing amusement which generally leads to enjoyment and laughter.

Our Work

Affiliate Marketing requires us to write - a lot; and while doing so, we must remember P.I.E.

Don't forget to write honest reviews because they will ultimately PERSUADE your reader to choose a product or service based on your words.

Don't forget that your writing should not tell your reader what you know they want to hear. Instead, ensure that what you INFORM your readers on is based on factual evidence. Readers need to trust the individuals that they follow and ultimately purchase from.

Don't forget to provide a lighter side and ENTERTAIN your readers. Life is too stressful as it is; and we can all use a laugh every now and then.

I Prefer P.I.E.S.

For my students, a P.I.E. may be enough, but as an affiliate marketer, I prefer P.I.E.S. If you are in the business of writing, then the process must be SELF-FULFILLING. The task of writing can and will be daunting if you don't enjoy what you do daily.

So, write what you love and mean what you say.

Best,

Monique :)

and allow it to be ...

I have been using a similar checklist but it is not as simple as the one you just gave us. I love it and will pin it up on my board.

I am glad that you like it. I would love to read your checklist.

Mine would be slightly different than yours, but only in the construction:

Entertain
Inform
Persuade

I construct content that helps them understand I know what kinds of problems they are having in a certain area and entertain them at the same time with examples.

I then begin the process of educating about possible solutions and, low and behold, I have what I consider to be the best answer for them and it is; my product!

The entertainment element is included here, as well, to illustrate cases studies or other data to help lock in their decision.

Good advice, Monique :)

Very nice! Thank you for your training :)
