WA Affiliate Program

Nowhere anywhere on the net will you get this much for so little. If you don't believe that, keep searching, but you'll come to the realization that everything you need to succeed is right here--all in one place. Moreover, there are many hidden gems here too--the knowledgeable and helpful individuals in this vibrant community for one!

Agreed! I've been searching on and off for some time. I can't find another program. Not only that, some appear to look good on the outside, but upon further investigation you start finding all sorts of additional costs for the many of the same things that are included here at WA.

Very true, my friend!

Hi Since you have already gone premium, you will not be able to go back to being a starter member which means if you don't pay for your premium membership, you will lose access to your websites.

So my suggestion is to try and find some other ways to make some money so you can afford your membership. There is this post by AJ, and I promised that I would share it with members who are struggling to pay for their WA membership so here it is.

Seriously? I 'm sure I can still have access to my website since I own it.

Do you mean I just can't edit it through Wealthy Affiliate? If so, then I could simply move it to another host temporarily. I do have such a possibility through my Internet provider. I had a site through them before and the hosting service doesn't expire until the end of March. It's not my favorite as everything is in German, but for the short term, it's okay.

Since I'm only talking about a month or two, finding another income source isn't really necessary. I just want to catch up on some unexpected expenses I had. Besides, I work hard enough already and need to preserve my nerves in order to continue enjoying building my website.

I don't want to stress about it. It turns out, Wix isn't what I need anyway. So, I'm just going to accept my situation and perhaps move my site for now. After a month or so, I'll probably find my way back here. It's a good place to be. :)

based on this thread, it looks like you only get 30 days to either move your websites or lose them. and the websites have to be your own domain sites if they are siterubix sites, then, of course, you can't move them because they belong to Wealthy affiliate.

That makes sense. I couldn't leave it with WA and expect it to be ther upon my return. I'd move it beforehand. Thanks for your comments! :)

Hi Michelle, when I first started with WA I could not really "afford" premium membership myself. I had to let my membership lapse twice because I seriously had to choose between WA or keeping my lights on.

I was looking at "50" a month, and it was daunting. When I started looking at it as "about 1.75" per day, I discovered I could manage it.

It's easier to make 1.75 per day when your mentality is seeing the smaller number.

I started selling printables on etsy, started selling junk on ebay and even made some PDF crochet patterns to sell on etsy.

I stuck it out, I'm going into my 3rd year, and I am VERY glad I remained premium.

I have looked for something like this for over 20 years, and I have to say, when it comes to WA, there's no comparison.

Am I making my tens of thousands a month, not yet, but I am getting there. Am I still broke? Nope, that 50 a month is chump change to me now :)

I think you'll be happy if you stick with it, it does take a bit of time to get the money flowing in, BUT, when it does.....the happiness you'll find is great.

Maria

Hi Maria. When you had to let it lapse, is it true that you didn't have access to your website during this time?

Mind you, I have a domain ... not a SiteRubix site.

I may have to let it lapse for now. I don't need another source of income, I only need a month or so to catch up on some unexpected expenses.

Yes, it's true, I did not have access to my websites during that time. It was not a very good experience.

I did have access to my domain name of course, but not my website content. I just read your reply to Ropesa, and yes, you can move your site to another host before your next billing is due. I didn't do that, thus I paid the price when mine lapsed.

Very true--many of us subconsciously spend much more than that on comfort items like fast food, coffee, etc. Even for the most financially strapped the monthly fee is peanuts for the value received, plus it's tax deductible if you are in business! For those who took the Black Friday deal, it's only $.82/ day! When you strive for success--you WILL find a way!

Unless something changes in the next couple of weeks, I'll probably have to leave for a month or two. But I'm okay with that. it is what it is. I'll just move my domain to the German host for a bit (since I'm still paying for it). But I'm certain I'll be back.

Actually, I could take on more assignments with my job (I'm a freelance English teacher), but I think it would do more harm than good. Balance is more important to me. Gone are the days of being so success driven that other facets of my life go in the trash. Besides, my son comes to visit me in March ... haven't seen him for 5 years and it'll be his first time in Germany. That is more important to me than taking on new assignments.

I really dig Wealthy Affiliates and am learning something new every day. In the end. it isn't the cost so much as it is the value I get from what i pay. I really have no complaints. I just got myself into a bit of a financial pickle and I'll get mysefl back out of it.

By the way, Wealthy Affiliates is far less expensive than my education was ... and I'm sure by the time it's all over ,,. will have been much more valuable as well.

Hi - I can just relate my own experience with moving a site from Wix. I had used the Wix site builder to build my very first real site...it was beautiful with a store etc!

When I joined WA with a yearly premium membership, I moved all my sites over here for hosting as it was all included in the membership and cheaper for me than paying for individual hosting.

Moving a wordpress site to another wordpress site is a breeze, but moving the Wix site to Wordpress was a nightmare!

You can only export content so there was no structure and I had to completely rebuild it. It took me a very long time! In the end it was a positive for the site, but I would never want to do that again.

Now I always recommend to anyone to NOT use fancy site builders as you will be stuck there forever unless you do what I had to do!

The other thing here is the hosting is great considering you can host 25 top level domains - I have 3 published sites and I'm happy with the cost just for them considering I get free SSL.

Just a few things to consider. Hope all goes well for you regardless of what you decide.

Cheers, Mary-Louise

Thank you. This is what I mean ... there are many things to consider. It can be confusing ... SSL certificates, incompatibility between editors, etc. I really want to focus only on content right now, and the thought of having to restructure and rebuild (i.e. focus on things other than creating content) really turns me off. I also have a plan for the future that would involve having 3 or 4 different domains. I know how to make that happen here, but not sure about how to do it or the cost involved with doing it on another program. Well, I'm not making any decision hastily. It gives me a headache. So for now, I'm going to go and write some more content. :)

Haha all good! Feel free to reach out anytime too.

And one other thing is the training - it's worth continuing to finish all the 5 levels and by that time you will have a decent amount of content for your site foundation.

Cheers, Mary-Louise

I had one square space site that cost me $128/year--for just ONE!
