Ranking - curious how does it work?
Good Day Folks,
I would like to start with saying a BIG THANK YOU ... for everything that this community has helped me with ....
Not certain how the ranking works ... yesterday I was at 279 and today I have gone back up to 285 ... I have been posting and I been commenting on other members blogs ... I have been having numerous likes ... trying to work my way to a lower number ... not to certain how to go about it ... just a question like that out of the blue ....

Michel, never forget how many people are here and how many of them are doing the same as you. Therefore the closer you get to good ranking the harder it gets.
I'll tell you what I do and it got me to rank 18 in 10 weeks!
Blog, blog, blog....comment, comment, comment.....answer, ask, site comments, chat, chat, chat, etc, etc, every day for hours and hours each day..........if you have that sort of time you can even do some learning and site building too!!

Mark, is there any real benefit to being in the top 100 other than the prestige and joy of making it there? Just curious.
No benefit other than the knowledge that by climbing the rankings you know you are interacting and helping out in the community.......WA is such a fabulous platform that there is kudos in achieving a high ranking, IMHO!!
I'm not real sure either, except I do know it is influenced by what we do but that's not everything. It depends on what others are doing as well. Also, if a lot of new people come in or get their sites up and running, that can influence the numbers. Too many factors to worry about it. I try to concentrate on my page and help others along where I can and let it be what it will, lol. But you're doing great and I'm sure you will get where you want to be in due time.
Yes it is fluid like water, others are moving constantly as well. You might be having a good day while someone else might be having an outstanding day. It's like asking how fast the Earth moving through space. You have to ask, well, relative to what? Everything else is moving too.

It is based on your activity and how much help you offer others in comparison to the rest of the community. It will fluctuate and that is OK.
