Training Retention

Last Update: January 18, 2018

There are many good reasons for teaching others

Dong trainings here to teach others will award cash credits. Bu it's not just that.

We have the best classroom and affiliate related bootcamp training available. It's set up to be archived for progress and retaken as needed. But what determines how often you want to retake it?

Diagram 1

And that's not all Let's match it against a time curve.

Diagram 2

We have been blessed with great training options

Using diagram 2

  1. Determine how long you personally can retain the lessons including Jay's presentations
  2. Map a schedule for retakes to fit that need

Going forward let's make this excellent training rock for WA and for you!

This is really good information. I take notes on all the training and go over them often and if I'm not sure about something, I watch the training (or read it) again. I always try to stay ahead of the curve.

Thanks for sharing this!

I love the way WA has the training set up. I’ve only been with WA for three months and already I have gone back to several of the training sessions. I find that the more you do something the easier is to retain the information. I’m so grateful that they have the trainings easily accessible!

Great stats Mike. Thanks for sharing.
I have created an Excel workbook with an indexed series of links to all of the WA training videos and posts I have seen. I now have over 2000 links categorised alphabetically and I refer to them regularly, both for my own use and to pass information to other members when I see appropriate questions.

Cheers

When I do retrain I often pick up on things I missed before.

Mike, this is why I make point notes as I watch videos. When I need a bit of a review I go to my spreadsheet and search out what I want to review.

This gives me the video name and url and the time in the video it occurred.

Best way to review as you can add/subtract info that you pick up. And this always happens.

Have a great day.

Great idea. I already need to review the lessons to find the information I may have glossed over the first time and consolidate what I have already understood. Maybe sharing what I missed or found helpful in the training could help someone else still struggling with the basics.

Retention for me is definitely reinforced by applying the information I have learned soon after I have learned it. Repeating the training offers up information previously missed and reinforces what you are actually doing.

I absolutely agree Tanya. I always find thing I missed the first time when I repeat a training. Notes help but I always miss something.

I only started to retain when I made my own notes

Well, I must say I feel a little slow in regards to retention. If it is one are specific I think I would do better. But, with the actual variety of subjects that are involved in putting a website together, I am glad that I have the gold list, and that some of this is retrievable on the emails, and then there are my notes , and then there are the tutorials. And this is the short list to keep up with while I am trying to get things done in the actual bootcamp certification. So, this all going on while I am still trying to iron out some editing problems on my about Scott page. SO, I don't think I am qualified to do any trainings just yet. But, maybe when I have an insight I would be able to try. stawhu (Scott)

Very interesting. I personally like the learning and doing method that is encouraged here. I came across this method when I went to the technical college a while back.

Learn something, and do a practical exercise that uses that new knowledge. If you could not do the practical exercise, you just knew that you missed something that you were supposed to learn.

Also redoing some of Kyle's training is important.

Your graphs are interesting. Writing an article that is training related is not easy as it can be pretty hard to determine the knowledge base of people reading that blog.

It helps if you are targeting a particular niche Dave!

Interesting Mike.......I mean really. Got me thinking about why I've decided to be here even after I get my business launched, and after learning as much as I can the first time through. Staying up to speed with the evolving internet......what's an easier way than right here in Wealthy Affiliates?

Thank you for the post, Mike.

I think the majority of the members stay aboard this fantastic program because we see the value it has to offer. We are also reminded of our humble beginnings when we notice the new members flood in.

I personally stick around to help other members because everyone here was extremely helpful to me when I initially started.
This is my way of paying it forward.

Thank you for the comments, Wilmer. I am so green at all of this and in the learning part now.........at this point I can't be of much help to anyone other than encouragement and positive words. So I guess that's my endeavor until I become educated and experienced.
