No this is not a test or a genuine occurrence. But it happens all too often. I live in the back end of beyond in regard to power outages. The other day just as I was starting to compose content on my machine ZZZZTT!. Power outage!.

This has been a colder than normal season where I live. Cold can cause many problems with machinery, electricity and electronics.

Circuitry can malfunction. Switches don't connect. Shorts occur The typical winter problem of a car skidding on a nearby icy road and taking out a telephone pole happened.

This resulted in a 4-hour outage before any effective response solved the problem. I might call it random site support. Let us all thank the powers that be that WA provides it in a regular fashion!

We live in a very, and I mean very, rural area. Wasn’t until earlier this year that we got internet that we could stream video with, and sometimes it still buffers. On top of that, we also get a lot of outages. We can certainly sympathise with you on this. We actually bought a generator for just such occasions. Thanks for reminding me, need to get some more gas. Take it all in stride. Thanks for sharing Mike!!

Things will get better, Mike.

Yes, Mike! This is challenging! So cold.

We live off the grid, so, mostly we have solar power or sometimes need to ad the genarator.

However, the internet is that issue here. Off and on ... between 2k MB in a sec and 10 KB in a sec.

When I cannot work at the computer I do something different that leads me to achieving my goals!

Aloha, Jenna

Hi Mike. I sympathise and hope all problems will resolve quickly in future.
My charger decided to internally combust the other day just as I was editing some music! (Grr!) But I'm used to these things to - I seem to have a strange effect on a lot of electrical equipment which has plagued me all my life. After my charger stopped working, I tried to resort to my iPod, tablet and phone to play music for my classes - and you know what I had to do in the end?
You've guessed it - sing!!! :)

Have a great weekend.
Gail

NowI'm glad the outage happened. It brought you out, Gail!

How do you know I wasn't the cause?!

LOL I love that Gail! ♥

Mike

My internet went down for no apparent reason this evening and I had to stop working.

It’s very frustrating and I live in the suburbs!

No way to guarantee!

Dear Michael, I understand your frustration. We live in far eastern Wa. State. We have very short days around 8 hours a day and average 6 to 9 feet of snow every year. Power outages are our number 1 problem. We were out once for sixteen days! My Husband purchased as big of an of a generator as he could afford at that time. But the big bad generator can run things like computers So when we go offline Wa community will now know our power has failed,
your friend Sandy

We've had our share of power outages here in NY. when Hurricane Sandy hit we had no power for 10 days. Brutal! 4 hours I could handle but maybe we'll get lucky his year and have none.

NY? I thought you were in Australia Erica!

I wish you all the luck
Sandy

I’m in Spain.. you’d think things would run smoothly here.. sadly not.. we lose power frequently, especially if it’s very windy and we lose internet very often too.

I grew you in Switzerland and every summer break, I got to vacation in Barcelona. I still remember the warm sunny beaches. Marco was still in power then, so the soldiers were still walking on the streets. most were polite, but others were mean and scary
Sandy

We don’t have soldiers on the streets now thankfully. I’m s long way from Barcelona. I live at the southern most tip of Spain. But Spain is not thriving, a lot of poverty- begging at most supermarkets.

I have heard of such thing in Spain. Are you doing ok? That is so sad to hear I love Spain,

I had an 8-hour brownout in the Philippines just yesterday. That put a damper on the workday. I did a lot of tasks I have been putting off like going to the dentist. But tough luck, the dentist didn't open because of the brown-out. I'm glad I wasn't in the middle of the root canal I've got planned when the brownout occurred.

How on earth did you do the flashing images. In A main header image.

I know I see the giphys people do here for the writing at the end. The moving pens and fairy emojis etc.

Oh wow this is the best and the first I have ever seen Mike. What have you got here. Tell me how you did it lol. Your the best.

Pm me even. Sharing is caring lol I love this post..

Can now we post videos in the main header post lol . Mike I wanna know :)))

Debs :)

LOL. I simply went to animated gifs Deb and picked it up. I love Gif's Animation at a % of the cost and effort of a video!

Wow I could never get gifs to work here not the picture ones anyways. I could at the end of a post but not an image. This is awesome. :)))
See I even spelt the gifs wrong. Mike your a star. Thank you so much. Still pm me that link lol I am intrigued. :)))) I love it :))

We get power outages all the time here. Think it's more a case of someone taking a siesta at the power company after eating too many patacones!
Hope you have hurricane lamps and warm blankets for emergencies.
