Stop words
There are many words in the English language that are virtually useless for Search engine optimization. These are stop words.
The first that come to mind are a, and as well as the. In most cases they are specific parts of speech. These are conjunctions, possessives and infinitives to start with as well as others.
You can be sure that action verbs and descriptive nouns will have a green flag!
The list above is partial. If you want to make your mark with Google, rank and get on the road to traffic STOP or minimize using them!

You have me stumped for sure. There are a few words on that list that I use so that my sentences make more sense.
Now I am not sure what to use.
Thank you for youit wisdom and for sharing : )
Exactly, and in the training it says when researching and choosing keyword phrases/words, what we include as keywords has to make logical sense.
good stuff Mkerns yes stop words can be a problem for search engines, but they do link a sentence for us humans, they are all trying to turn us into robots!!..speaking like them...lol
Thanks Mike. I never really got 'stop word's or how to write good keywords that ignored them - sometimes we need to use them to make grammatical sense, don't we? I guess what you're saying is that the other words in the sentence are really the ones that get ranked, is that it?
Haha - yes - normally I would agree with you but this year we are having a great run of sunny weather - I've even got a bit of tan which is saying something!! If fact the weather forecast is so good for the next week that I have emptied everything out of my sheds and left it in the back garden, promising myself that if it is not useful, beautiful or has a place, I will throw it out!
Wish me luck!
So should these words be taken into consideration when doing keyword research/keyword phrase research?
