Rebuilding plot

Tonight I saw the movie (Creed 2) on The son of Appolo Creed It is a logical extension of Rocky 4. This was aired some 25 years ago in 1984. I have seen all the Rocky series and that was the best one. I'm partial to the rocky series as I spent part of my working life in Philadelphia in the 1970s and know the city well.

Creed's father was killed in that movie and Rocky fought and put down the antagonist Ivan Drago in Moscow. I paid particular note to the progression of the plot. In the original. After Creed 1 is killed Rocky comes out to a successful win against Drago for the heavyweight title at that time.

Now an aging. Drago is contesting Creeds son (Creed 2) for the new world heavyweight title. Creed 2 acts the part of a first time underdog against Drago's son

As in all melodrama it is a problem for the scriptwriter as it would be for any story writer to create original twists in a story as not to repeat verbatim the former plot.

The ingenious solution involved an essential draw based on a technicality (Drago's latent sucker punch) which kept Creeds' hopes alive without an actual defeat. From here Creed could go on and successfully train for a winning upset under Rocky's tutelage

I have to admire the director Steven Caple Jr. for the plot building genius that gave a twist of new originality to the story. This is the way to build new content and new story lines. It can also be a way to launch new e-books with an original punch.

Good comparison !

Hi Michael!

Great example. Thanks for sharing. Standing out in a ring is also important as in online marketing. Having some great "shots arsenal" available is a great advantage in the "ring of online and affiliate marketing!".

Best regards,
Igor

Stay well, market better, convert best!

I like that...imagination and a twist of unique content...a good thing to aim for.

Didn't realize there was a creed 2.

Good screenwriters make it seem so easy. I love when I get lost in the story and no longer feel like I'm watching a movie. Gosh it is challenging to create blogs that inspire a loyal following. Practice, practice, practice!

Mike,
Thanks for the summary drawn with the Rocky movies.
I am not, unfortunately, a Rocky follower. However, I am interested in the supporting cast brought along with the unusual twist to the original plot. Are they the same, or changed to reflect the passing time and changing points in hero's life cycle?

I think we are all wiser for learning from the original productions, and that surely was a successful one.

How was Creed 2? I saw Creed 1 couple weeks ago. I need to see Rocky Balboa see what happened to his wife and Pauly. I saw on Creed that he went to his wife's and Pauly's grave. I have to see all the Rocky movies to understand more in the Creed movies. I've seen Rocky 1 through 5. I never have seen Rocky Balboa. I need to see that to see what happened to his wife.

Prepare for transformimg eentertaiment Roger!

Okay.

Been debating on weather we should go watch Creed 2. Think we'll go this evening.

Yes! Also put a new spin on something written, maybe the consumer who read the first post didn't buy because of something unsaid.

Re-writing also makes you research a little deeper and give you more insight to your niche.

Wow, they sure managed to stretch this one out. Amazing how movies like these and the Star Wars franchises live on and on...
keep fighting the good fight!
