Networking a simplistic view
Many things ride on the backbone of the internet. You basically have a central nest which is the core of your data stored on your hard drive or externally as backup on a web server. You can look at the processes as streams of data connected by nodes.
Packets consist of segments of raw data in bits (ones and zeroes) which comprise your basic message.the modem modulates (composes) these data snippets at the transmission of your message. It then demodulates (redefines) the basic message to understandable non machine language format at the receiving end of your message
Some components in a packet become corrupted due to botnet and spamming infection. The function of the firewall is to detect and reject these infected bits. If it doesn't meet muster it doesn't go through!

Hi Mike, these days you need more than a firewall. I have a virus protector & a malware protector & run them every other day. Even so, some clever dudes can still "get you"
Good explanation though.
Cheers Jae

Thanks Michael, although I miss shopping and blogging in the infographic, and that's the most important way of communication in affiliate marketing.
