What is Moral Elevation:

Moral elevation involves witnessing acts of charity and literally taking them to heart It has been practiced and understood by great thinkers in history.

Thomas Jefferson observed after watching acts of virtue and charity that people developed common empathy. They then began yearning to help and started behaving in similar ways. According to Jonathan Haidt of New York University, the process is introduced by acts of selflessness and virtue.

Warm feelings are caused in the observer. It is a process of awe (shades of Kyle's "awesome". It is also.aversion to disgust. People are then motivated themselves to behave more virtuously.

Observing these behaviors often leads to a feeling of being a "better person". This can result in a greater feeling of optimism for all humanity!

It is this great concept that is at the heart of Wealthy Affiliates's "pay it forward" processes. Just thinking about it elevates me! Maslows' highest hierarchical level, Self Actualization, is involved.

It's great to spend each day living self actualization. It's a major treat to have it in our community!

So true Mike. It's by far the best thing about Wealthy Affiliate, in my own opinion.
Wendi :)

I agree Wendi!

Having spent my first 17 years of my life on an island, gave me the best exposure and experience of sharing, lifting each other up, giving and simply just loving people.

It is hard to comprehend but if the Maker made us all rich, who would we show our love and compassion to. That is why there will always be poor folks in our midst so we can help them. And in my case, so we can help each other poor folks. : )

Is it similar to a spiritual sublime conditioning of the soul

There is so much bad news 'out there', it's sometimes hard to find the wheat for the chaff. Thanks, Mike, for the reminder.... Look closer, look for the good; it's there if you want to find it!
