Laptop Bans on flights
As if the problem with Richard Reid the shoe bomber wasn't 'bad enough the restriction on flight baggage continues. Now information obtained on a Yemen raid on Al Qaeda in January affects bringing laptops on to planes.
True this is on international flights into the US FOR NOW. But things have a way of evolving. This can result in degradation of an already failing flight experience. It is already necessary to bring your own device BYOD to enjoy inflight entertainment.
If they develop smaller explosive additions that fit any mobile device where will we be? This will change in flight business as we know it!

Thanks Mike, great article and I think that they have to be safe but they do go too far sometimes. Xx
Be careful over there in Germany and Italy Gerlinde. If kit can happen in England now it can happen everywhere! I feel for Europeans especially!
Yes, I always have the laptop with me, so next time I'll think about it!
And, in general, at the Airports, they are treating people like criminals also in Europe now... flying it's not fun anymore...
A friend flew just last week (between states within the US) and they told her that she couldn't check her laptop in her bag, she had to carry it on. I thought that one was way weird and probably a made up rule.
