A number of people have complained about posting content on their blogs that they know is uniquely formulated. .

I posted earlier a great concept on artificial intelligence and the advanced computations on interpreting machine language. Then I almost couldn't publish great information because of a content checker that's in the stone age!

Finally I had to derive and experiment by taking a good enriched paragraph of my own devising out of the mix. I figured that the haywire detector may have used length of post against authorship. It worked! But it shouldn't have to be this way. Sometimes you have to accelerate progress yourself here due to inordinate and indirect lag time in obtaining redress for bumbled tools suppressing authorship!

Moving forward with constructive criticism against ineffective tools in this great community

Hey Guys, we found that some special characters in content can through a false positive. It'll be fixed shortly, but according to our logs and the data that we track has happened extremely rarely. A very very small % of attempts have produced false positives as we can see the exact content being checked. A small update will be released within the hour to address this.

@Mkearns, if you have some content that is not able to be published, please send me a PM so I can look at it - I'll be able to determine the EXACT content that produced the false positive for you.

Thank you very much Carson. I look at Wealthy Affiliate as a great content writers community. Central to everything!

We implement a duplicate content checker, something that we have had and have refined for many years across many different applications.

It might be too sensitive here for the application of posts here at WA and we are going to be looking into this today. Thanks for bringing this to our attention and if anyone ever has any content blocked, please send me the content so I can verify with our programming team exactly what is going on here.

We just can't have any duplicate content here, it adversely impacts our rankings at WA and it leads to a great deal of plagiarism and people behaving as though content that isn't theirs is. Both things that we want to avoid.

I appreciate your response and addressing of this Kyle. I enjoy writing and enlightening the community. As Jay has said in his webinars mostly everything Is repurposed content. I try to integrate my lifetime experiences into the mix to move the content to originality. Thanks for your assistance!

I'm still learning, but did you use a content checker somewhere to check your content? Is there somewhere here on WA that notifies you? I'm just wondering what Kyle has to do with content checker.

I find that just looking over the post, I can detect where the problem lies and correct it and then it gets published. But it was totally dishearting to have a post rejected, saying that it is not an original post, when I knew that it was my own content.

thanks for the original consern
sending blessings your way Linda

I've got your back on this, Mike! I'm of a mind that the content checker is a piece of junk, and should be done away with. I've had totally original posts be rejected several times. It's annoying! Maybe if we gather enough voices in opposition to this, something will change.

Thanks Rick. The thing that needs to be done is up front communication so all members can see this coming rather than be annoyed by deficient blindsiding. I'm all for eliminating plagiarism. Where's the fun in that? A thriving community in which all contributions are given just attribution is my desire!

I've only been accused of unoriginal content once, but it was annoying. I didn't adjust it in any way however, and merely tried to publish it a second time about 5 seconds later, at which point it was accepted.

I am too much of a novice to actually understand how all this works yet - except it seems to make sense.

You can write all the copy you want on your own website. I can understand that Kyle doesn't want it on his.

You content may be original, but the bot is finding exact phrases already published online.

Is the problem with WA or the Google algorithm that doesn't account for quoted copy with citation?

Intelligence and mind are not a monopoly of the persons who have thought of something before us.

Different people of different times can have the same perception of a thing.

Machines are giving as a problem about that. I hope time will come that machines will learn to have a problem who are an authority in such an idea rather than people being controlled by machines.

I wasn't aware that there was a content checker. Can someone enlighten me?

Basically a content checker identifies any duplicate content that has already been posted on the web, Sorta checking for Plagiarism which is a Big no no with Google. Hope this helped you out a little.

Yes, real problems with serious blogs when you want to give a reference to some source, or literary bogs with the excerpts from the poems, etc.Even if it is correctly organised- with the citation marks and reference to the source. That's a hassle.:(

Yes, I have experienced this once or twice as well...If you quote something from a post or an article, even with a citation and quotation marks, it gets flagged...

In each case, I had to remove most of the quote to get the post to be accepted and published...Perhaps making an image of the quoted material is the answer, with attribution within the image...

Next time that is what I intend on doing...Then, to make sure that the post will make sense to the search engines, synopsize the quote so the flow of the post remains and makes sense...

Think that would work?

Cheers!
