Many people are shucking the turkey preparation and going out to eat this Thanksgiving.

A primary alternative to the chief holiday meal is take out or delivered food. Convenience is attained by sitting down in a restaurant where the dishes are served to you.

A Chinese Thanksgiving meal

Take out uses the advantage of mobility to bring alternatives to your table.

Another form of Chinese cuisine other than takeout is the fortune cookie. While takeout affects the meal, Chinese cuisine is enhanced by satisfying curiosity in the messages contained therein.

This is one of the most original ways to add content to the premise of a meal The fortune cookie message is an ingenious add on marketing piece of content It has reached the mainstream consciousness of everyone in the world

It has the advantage of being mobile as well . On top of the mobile tradition of takeout this is a totally responsive scenario.

Which reminds me that in this new season the time is right to check responsiveness of our themes and content!

Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving.

A great family celebration. Back atcha Mel!

Not very sure about mobile cookies.
Happy Thanksgiving.

Yes! So . . . I am not the only one! We opted to get take out from a local restaurant as well. My wife's father passed away the day before turkey day, and with all that we had to do with that, cooking a large meal for a crowded house was a little too much.

You see, each year, traditionally, our large family gathers at my house for Thanksgiving, and the responsibility to do all of the cooking and to please everyone falls on me. This can be especially challenging because several of my guests don't like turkey and I cook separate meals of meatloaf, brisket, a pasta dish as well as the turkey dinner. So, this year, each of us ordered from the menu of Perkins and I brought it home to eat at the table and retain a semblance of tradition. The cost was relatively the same, but I didn't have to get up at 5 AM to cook two turkeys and all of the trimmings and several other meals while everyone else had fun visiting. Nor did I have a huge mess to clean up afterwards while everyone else had fun watching the TV and relaxing. Instead, I made a phone call, drove three miles to the restaurant to pick up our order, distributed to each person their favorite meal, and once we had all had our fill, tossed the containers in the trash and went to the living room to relax.

Everyone had a great time, and everyone got to eat what they wanted. As it turns out, Thanksgiving isn't about the traditional turkey dinner at all. Thanksgiving is about families getting together and being grateful for what we have.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Good Morning Mike,

The problem with those cookies is that the dough tastes lousy.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

just treat them as fortune tellers, not as cookies. :)
Cheers!

Good evening Deepika,

Yes, I know. I stopped eating them but like to read what is inside.

Yummy! Happy Thanksgiving! :)

What's the difference, it's who you are with.

"A conclusion is simply a place where you got tired of thinking"

I have that generic quote on a strip of paper saved from an old fortune cookie!

I got take out from mothers today Mike after I engaged in gluttony at the table, Turkey and all the fixings!..Yumm!

I will check responsiveness to my theme and content again tomorrow...I am sure it will still suck..that is my "conclusion"! For tonight!

That said, I do like Chinese take out once in a blue moon! Not on the Thanksgiving menu, but I get your point!

Thankyou Cindy. I was adventurous 2 years ago and tried gator fritters at a Cajun restaurant

Haa! OK...That's not even close Mike! You can do better than that! ;-)

LOL Cindy!

Your post reminds me of sitting at home on a Sunday afternoon watching "Pink Panther" movies with my dad - what a nice memory, thanks....but "beware the waitress bearing fortune cookies!" Have a great day Mike. Gail
