There are a number of ways to tell you've had enough! Problems can come from many angles to challenge your employment resolve. Once the pillars that support your resolve begin to dissolve, it won't't belong before your job is toast.

While this advisory states there are 20 indicators of acute burnout fatigue, they can be condensed to less than that. Let's look at them by number.

  • 1. Tired, desperately extending rest
  • 2. Lack of energy in the course of a day
  • 3. Spot loss of sleep. Inconsistent patterns due to worry
  • 4. Inordinate relief at weekend or vacation periods
  • 5, Using brief or one word responses when asked your perceptions. Responding with "fine" This is advertised denial which indicates a desire to be rid of the questioner
  • 6. Frequently being queried about tour feelings. A sure indication your feelings are picked upon by others
  • 7. Practicing reclusive behavior. It won't take long for co-workers to feel your job pain and possibly feel they are a part of it
  • 8. Easily stressed by long hours in your schedule that are routine
  • 9. Lunophobia. Dreading Monday and the long climb to the midweek hump
  • 10. Living for quitting. Not thinking it through is an invitation for disaster whatever the position
  • 11. Lack of enthusiasm regarding explaining your position to others
  • 12. Becoming uncaring and obnoxious around customers and co-workers. You just do't give a hoot!
  • 13. Unable to relate or describe your last accomplishment or interests
  • 14. Taking medications and away from workplace excessively. A surefire indicator that things are not well!
  • 15. Hurrying up in place. Going fast stuck in a rut!
  • 16. You're either for or against the company. If against, you're going down!
  • 17 Looking for explanations by attacking everything and everyone around you!
  • 18. Extreme venting on your friends and partner. It's not their fault - Really!
  • 19. If everything is colored gray, it affects your outlook and fervor if when you search it appears like the same old thing!
  • 20. Everyone is tiptoeing around you like dynamite. You don't have a problem. You are the problem!

These can be summed into fear, uncertainty and throwing a useless tantrum. Time to grow up and join the world! These concepts apply just as much in an on line world. You must master creating harmony for everyone. A pattern we are well and wisely set on here!

Lots of signs that you've had enough. Unfortunately too many of us try to ignore them for too long.

Yep, I'm slowly heading that way with my current full-time job. No raise in 2.5 years and more and more job duties being added to what I do.

Hey! Thanks! I'm sooooooo there. Time for a change! Life really is too short to stay in a job/field you've come to despise. I hate being miserable just to earn a dollar.

Too much to do and not enough time, too much to pay and not enough money...........I m burned out since birth!
unless before I could jump under a cold shower to cool the burns
but now even that one doesn't work!

Ironically, I could hit over 75% of those bullets last year (haha!) but partly it was due to hitting that cycle that women hit around their 50s, health-related chronic issues I was not taking care of consistently and not appreciating myself thru self-deprecating humor.

However, during medical leave late last year I was able to take stock of where I was at, why I was so miserable and what would it take to quit the self-pity party and become the fun-loving, optimistic gal I normally am!

I took action by re-evaluating my goals/dreams, connected with a great website like WA called MotivatingtheMasses.com and found my passion for writing back. I also took action on channeling all that negativity into physical activity like walking 10,000 steps daily, recently found 2 accountability partners for my health and my writing project (one is also my health coach) and an online partner who also aspires to be a published author.

I still work F/T but someday soon it will be an inevitable closing of the door in that part of my life. Meantime, I appreciate working with my co-workers, stay active and keep a positive attitude because I can change me and nobody else.

Keep up the great articles. I think a posting like this will help others if they find themselves choosing more than ONE of those bullets!
