Gone are the days of 4P marketing (product, promotion, place and price. The promotion of products or services using internet immersed technology. It also involves mobile technology, especially digital phones.
Since 1990,digital marketing's development has changed the technology mix for the way brands and businesses approach the sale of goods and services digital definitions are increasingly incorporated into marketing plans and commercial decisions of life. With the use of digital devices its no longer a matter of visiting a physical shop. Now we have more ready and effective digital marketing campaigns.
Digital marketing methods include:

- influencer marketing

- data driven marketing

- campaign marketing

- display marketing

These are now in our advancing technology. In fact, digital marketing now extends to non-Internet channels that provide digital media. Examples are mobile phones and use of non internet parthways to differentiate digital marketing from online marketing.

it shows how things have evolved over the years.
The difference between digital marketing and online marketing is somewhat vague and personally, the difference seems to be merely an academic one. I have heard people saying that one needs to understand the difference to organise our efforts for a more meaningful marketing strategy. I think mine's nearer to the online marketing concept as my business is wholly dependent on the internet. Whatever it is, I'm glad that I'm a part of that herd of people who are into this online business stuff. Many years down the line, when I look back, who knows I'll be extremely proud of the things that I did. I had been among the pioneers, you know :) Cheers!

I also feel like you expanded the understanding of this scope from more of a helicopter view.
But regardless we are on the upward bell curve of this Profession and that is where you want to be.
