From the earliest days of marketing much has been studied about the ideal customer. The customer is at the center of all marketing efforts.

All the basic efforts in our business revolve around the customer.

  • Finding the proper niche
  • Determining what that niche requires in finding products to promote
  • Determining the nice to have up front presentable aspects (features)of the product or service
  • Doing a deep focus on the real customer needs (benefits) of the product or service

As far as the customer themselves the problem solution approach entails five steps

  1. Determining the customer's pain points (a).What is their priority (b) ASK THEM what is the best desired solution in their mind (c) What is missing in the standard formula based on historical marketing results
  2. Permorming a thorough problem solution analysis (a) Look at the buying picture from a 360 degree view (b) What are the relevant demographics age factors, household status and gender, geographic location and market conditions there. Earnings status is quite important. The financial research that led to credit and debit card marketing has this as it's basis (c) frequency of problem occurrence (d) is the problem worsening, if not what can be done to ensure it will not do so
  3. Determine the decision approach criteria which lead the purchase.(a) Is this a new purchase for the customer. Get to the WHY (very important) if this is a switch from a long used product or service variety. (b) Has any physical criteria or condition lead to the customer's new approach (c) What makes the product or service stand out that the customer just has to have right now!
  4. Detail an array of alternate solutions and with the customer's feedback and interaction assess the most competitive and profitable.
  5. Pick the best solution. You should jell your customer's backing with the internal business goals and climate of your organization

Bounce your ideas against the customer experience (CX) graphic. It was developed in 2016 and has now been given the term user experience (UX). UX is recognized in WA and Jay has given an excellant training on it.

Keep on with your great marketing ideas my friends!

I must admit, I'm still struggling at times to 'read' customers' mind. Which is probably where I go wrong. I guess it's often about offering advice, expertise and propose services and merchandise wearing your heart on your sleeve.

Thanks for sharing, Mike.

Knowing the customer is the most important part of formulating as successful marketing campaign. Interacting with customers gives you important data of the needs and the wants within a specific niche.

This is so darn good...saving this one, too.
