confidence building techniques

When launching forth with any personal endeavor, preparation is key. We all have particular comfort zones about which I posted recently. Confidence is necessary to break free and intelligently expand them. "Seize the day" (carpe diem) "take the bull by the horns" are common liberation prompt slogans.

Don't just count your blessings, count your accomplishments when mining for rocket fuel. I like to keep a journal of accomplishments. Daily and weekly are great. It's when you get to the monthly level that you start to see trends and patterns By backtracking your patterns you start to see where corrections can be fitted and engineered for change.

The first time I took a risk, it was a literal dive into the deep end of a pool. I came up and as soon as I caught my breath my confidence returned a thousand fold. I scrambled out and rushed back to the diving board. Sure enough! As I was expecting it went quicker and smoother on a replay.

Sometimes we find ourselves doing something different for the novelty of it. I had a job plotting surveying trails on graph paper on the day after surveying them in the field. My love for capturing my actions in graphical form (a bit like writing) was at a level that caused me to work through the lunch hour. My audacity in this action frightened me at first for the novelty of it. I soon found out it was liked more than thought wierd. I learned a great lesson in confidence boosting on that day!

I was fortunate to be shaped in extempore speaking in Sunday School assignments and extempore speaking classes in college. Soon I thought nothing of being on a speaking circuit. The turn around ready up time was no inconvenience. You simply know your subject and deliver to people what they want to hear!

I like a good challenge and WealthyAffilate provides that opportunity for me and many others. It became an exhilarating run to go to the ambassador level in 2016. Wealthy Affiliate has been a great help in making stretch goals happen.

I have plans to start an e book trilogy by the end of this year. When I have the plot and first draft done I will make sure, after personal attribution, my WA family will be the first trusted pilot audience. It's great to wing free with the empowerment of true dragon slaying!

Haha! I must keep dragon-slaying at the front of my mind when worrying about anything. First I will smile, then take off to slay whichever dragon happily! Many thanks, Sue :)

Thanks Mike!

Good Morning Mike,

As your name is Michael I am counting your dragons.
Yes, Sir, I took the bull by the horns when on January 2017 I started 2 websites, I am still clinging on but must say it is a long corrida. Have a great weekend.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

Great advice, I need to focus on my accomplishments.

I really like your journal of accomplishments idea. That seems like a good tool to help boost one's self-confidence.

When I began a mystery trilogy a few years ago, I had an extremely rough idea of what would happen in the second and third books and a pretty good idea of what would take place in the first.

It all changed before I got them done.
