Another beautiful WA habit
Every time I look around I find great things that I would have never been aware of without the wonderful WA community.
How many of us realize what a blessing global exposure is? There are customs and habits in much of the world that are soul enhancing. They escape notice based on the standard holiday gift giving patterns in the US and much of the British influenced world.
I have observed in Russia and much of the eastern European countries there is a beautiful tradition of celebrating with flowers. It is also more widespread elsewhere than I ever would have thought.
It is a wonderful tradition. In no other natural gift tradition is every conceivable color and pattern so predominant. No other gift can resonate with such heartfelt beauty and emotion!
Thanksgiving which arrives this Thursday is the first general occasion and holiday in much of the world in awhile to offer an opportunity to send virtual flowers and reawaken special friending in our community. This is a great thought as we arrive at that wonderful holiday that am thankful for!

Yes, in Russia we tend to give and get flowers as presents on different occasions and without....:))
Australia doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving, unfortunately. I think it is a lovely celebration showing thankfulness for the years blessings and for the coming year. Love flowers but prefer them in a pot so as they continue growing :)
You are correct! My partner Larry owned a florist business...and he never sent me flowers! Until I raised 9 kinds of hell about it! He said he thought since he was a florist it would be tacky for him to do so...humm...Go figure! Now I get flowers all the time! ;-)

Thanksgiving is a tradition not celebrated in New Zealand. When I read about Thanksgiving it appears to be a very peaceful and family orientated celebration.
Of course, flowers are always beautiful, no matter what time of the year or event being celebrated.
