Optimism is necessary
Last week one of my friends said to me that they think I am too optimistic - it really shocked me. They were explaining to me that I had given my daughter an unrealistic attitude about what to expect out of life because I have always told her that if she keeps on trying, she can succeed. It still makes me so sad for this person and her children. I usually feel empowered and able to move forward even when things go wrong and the chaos monkeys (see earlier post) enter my life.
So I just wanted to share with you the importance of optimism and happiness. It is so important to your success in life. It gives you the motivation and strength to keep on going even when the naysayers start hacking away at you. Remember...
" When unhappy, one doubts everything; when happy, one doubts nothing. " Joseph Roux
So remember, your happiness and success is in your hands. You are the only person who can make you happy. It is Your reaction to events that causes you to be happy or sad, motivated or defeated, successful or unsuccessful. You Reaction is in Your Control!
"Your success and happiness start with you" Helen Keller
Here is one more quote to emphasize the importance of happiness and optimism.
"Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success." Albert Schweitzer
Without happiness, you cannot be truly successful.

I had been accused of having unrealistic expectations: the psychologist called in a psychiatrist saying I would be severely disappointed because of my limitations. This doctor thought I might be normal. In the following 12 years I have changed countries, married again, pursued self support and am now immersed in WA. Severely disappointed? Hardly. Expect greatness.
Absolutely! That is great!
