Climbing The Mountain
Well, I've been here at WA since November. It's been and continues to be a really challenging, sometimes exasperating, journey, which I think of as climbing a mountain. The picture I chose for this blog is from my collection of pictures I took last summer when I was in Europe. One of my goals is to go back there as soon as I can afford it.
When I first came here to Wealthy Affiliate, I didn't know what to expect, because I had heard so much negative stuff about scams on the Internet. I'd never tried anything like this before, but I was interested in making money (Who isn't?) because (well, I didn't have any). But I learned a lot being here. I learned that it isn't primary about money, it's about helping people, as is so often pointed out here. And I've found that really works. I've connected with people on this site and they have made me feel at home. I consider it my second home. I'm not making any money yet, but you know I've come to realize that patience is essential, success doesn't come overnight, and I learned that Wealthy Affiliate is NOT a scam, because what scam would require so much hard work?!
So, I just want to say that I'm looking forward to the future, and I'm trying to help more people now, whereas before I was still kind of focusing more on my stuff and less on what other people were doing. But that's a mistake. Serving the other members here is the first priority.
I'm looking forward to whatever comes up.

That's a lovely comment MJL71 by the way it is so much easier to put your name at the bottom of your posts, that way we can address you by you name instead of all those letters that don't have any meaning to us.
I agree we become familiar with each other through our posts or comments, they are usually very helpful.

Well, you are right. The most frustrating thing for me is the technical stuff. I'm a writer, I understand content and so on, but the technical stuff sometimes gets me down. Maybe it is an idea for a blog. Thanks for the suggestion, Mike.
The great thing about WA is that the community has many like-minded folks here working and striving to improve their lifestyles.
The position is to help those around us and in turn to be helped that sense of community is very strong. Without standing out we do need to balance that with a sense of returning on the investment of time and energy, so a balance between the two.

Yes, you're right. That's exactly it. And the energy that spills out as a result of the connections people make here is what keeps it going. Encouragement is so necessary when things go south.
Well said, Mike, I am totally sure that the support that is given freely within the community helps many folks travel further than they would under their own steam.
Oh yeah, there's no question about that, in my mind. I know I've faltered, as I'm sure almost everyone here has, who is new to this, and I would have quit by now if it hadn't been for the support I've gotten her.
Great post, I know what you mean I didn't know what to expect either but I stepped out on faith and I working hard to achieve what I need to and also to help out when I can in terms of answering questions and going into live chat when I can too. You don't know sometimes how other people may be feeling until you say something, and I think everyone's a little bit afraid of taking that step, you know, to push the envelope a little more each day.
