I think because it sounds to me like you just want to learn - the "I just want to push through" did it for me.
Not expecting too much from your first site and using it as a learning curve sounds to me like an excellent way to learn.
It takes all the pressure off having to make a sale and if you do make a few then they are all a bonus.
