Where in the world have you been? Wealthy Affiliate Global Representation
This past week, a member of WA left me a message stating that he was following me. When I looked at his bio, I read a statement about him being the only Moroccan at WA. I also had someone share a message on my profile page stating that he had not met anyone else from Nicaragua in WA.
And as I think about it, day after day, I am meeting people in WA from different parts of the world. Here is a list of places that I can remember right off the top of my head: Canada, US, UK, El Salvador, New Zealand, Australia, Greece, France, Japan, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago. I know that there are many more that I have come across, and I apologize if I forget where you are from.
I have a feeling that Wealthy Affiliate is well represented on a global level.
I want to give a shout out to Whatknots because this post came about after reading a message someone shared in her profile. After a quick chat with her, I got "inspired". There are many wonderful places in the world and the likelihood is that none of us will get to visit them all in our lifetime. And the point that really hit me was:
How much do we really know about what exists and is going on around the world?
Disclaimer: Many members make mention of their location in their bio or in discussion with other members so I hope that this post is not too intrusive. I personally have no ulterior motive with the comments or the questions listed below. I respect that some members prefer not to divulge their location or share their personal experiences and this is in no way a ploy to draw them out. Please only participate to the extent that you feel comfortable doing so
Honestly, I just thought it would be fun to find out how many countries are legitimately represented within the Wealthy Affiliate community. There are 197 countries "recognized" in the world; 193 UN members, 2 UN observer countries, Taiwan, and Kosovo. I wonder how many are represented in Wealthy Affiliate?
Feel free to add a comment, and please be honest so that the results are not skewed. If there is enough participation, I will followup with a post summarizing the results.
I will kick start the journey around the world with my own travel log.
Where were you born?
Where did it all start for you? My beginnings are in a small pulp and paper town in Northern Ontario.
Name the country of your birth (and if you want to include the province or state, you can do that too).
I was born in Ontario, Canada
Where do you live now?
Many of us do not live in the same place where we were born. I moved a lot while growing up and have moved a lot as a grown up (you can read more about my moving around in my bio). My wife on the other hand, was born and raised in the same town and left for one year of College and then she married me and joined me for my last year of University. We then returned to her home town for work purposes and didn't leave again until moving to Nicaragua as missionaries.
Name the country where you are currently living (and if you want to include the province or state, you can do that too).
I am currently living in Nicaragua and have been here for 10 years.
Where is the best place you have visited?
Along the way, many of us have had the chance to travel. If I asked everyone to include every place in the world that they have visited, I am sure that the list would be quite extensive. I have visited 11 different countries and I have visited every province in Canada except for Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, P.E.I and the Territories. I have only visited two US states though I have twice traveled by vehicle from Michigan to Florida (but only making pit stops along the way).
Some members have shared posts about places that they have visited and their amazing experiences. A few even expressed a desire to return if the opportunity ever presented itself.
For my part, If I had to pick one place as the best I have ever visited, I would have to pick the Rocky Mountains in Alberta, Canada. In particular, the scenic corridor between Banff and Jasper. There is nothing like being completely surrounded by majestic mountains, that is, until you are standing on the very top of a mountain looking down at everything below. It is absolutely breathtaking.
I lived in Calgary for 6 years and had the opportunity to visit the mountains on several occasions. I had also visited the Rockies as a child before we moved out west. Even though I have been to the Rockies on numerous times, it is one place I would love to visit again.
I think it would be best to limit this section to sharing the best place that you have visited. If you can include a brief "reason why" statement so that others can understand a little about what makes it attractive. Who knows, maybe it will become a destiny of choice for some WA members when their financial dreams come true.
Best Place: Rocky Mountains, Alberta (the corridor between Banff and Jasper)
What is your dream destination?
Many members of WA include a statement in their bio that one of the reasons they are looking for additional income, is their desire to travel, their desire to see the world and to be able to travel where, and when they want to. If you could pick one place in the world to go and visit next month, where would it be?
If I could pick one place to visit it would have to be the Mediterranean. Unfortunately, I cannot pick just one specific spot as I would love to visit the historically significant landmarks in this part of the world. I think that this trip would work well on a 21-day cruise.
I would love to visit the Mediterranean.
Action Point: This is just for fun.

Where were you born? I was born in central Arkansas in the U.S.
Where do you live now? I live in NW Arkansas in the Ozark mountains.
What is the best place you have visited? I haven't visited very many places but my trip through the Rockies in Colorado was great. I also loved Lake Tahoe in California. The only place I've visited outside the U.S. was Cairns, Austrailia when my missionary daughter was sick and had to be air-lifted to a hospital there.
I wish I could go back for a "fun" visit to Austrailia and see more things.
What is your dream destination? I've always wanted to visit one of the Hawaiin Islands and Yellowstone National Park in the U.S.

We traveled up around the south island on a cruise ship out of Sydney into the Fiordlands and then onto Auckland to visit our friends.
The Fiordlands is majestic, to say the least.
