World BackUp Day 2Day
You may not know this but today is officially “World Backup Day” designed to raise awareness about the importance of backing up your digital life i.e. your photos, music, movies, documents and more.
Our whole lives are now stored on hard drives - But what if these hard drives crash?
When a hard drive fails and the data isn't backed up, it's gone. And it's not a question of if your drive will fail, it's when. Remember, every hard drive will eventually fail in its lifetime.
That’s why this World Backup Day I urge you to backup your hard drive anyway you can.
There are plenty of free options for backing up your files.. a few are:
- Drop Box who we all know and love 2 GB free storage to start
- Symform also offers 10 GB of free online backup space
- Google drive now has 15 GB of online storage
- Microsoft has changed OneDrive. It is now 7 GB if you are a new subscriber
- MiMedia's Free plan offers 7 GB of free backup space
- IDrive's Basic plan grants 5 GB of free online storage space
- The Jottacloud Free online backup plan offers 5 GB for free

I tell everyone I know to back up their stuff to another source. If it's realy important I tell people hey should have it on multiple har drives and online because it's very unlikely all of the har drives will fail at the same time
