I've started my free website as you've instructed, and I've found a great supplier whose products I'd like to promote. For me to become an affiliate of theirs, I need to apply t

I NEED EARN THE MONEY

My advice would be to exercise a little patience and continue the lessons here to build out your website, then apply to your chosen affiliate program. They will still be there and you would be better positioned to make a profit at that point anyway.

No, Matt, it's a membership site. They don't take a cut of anything that you make online through marketing products. Many affiliate marketers don't have a website. They sell through PPC or banner adds on other sites that have already built up the trust and the traffic. There are short cuts it's just that building your own site is considered an asset....much like a house, that can be sold later. I the meantime you can live in it. Trouble is, not all products will fall into the narrow sell of your site. With you it will be much easier as you are looking to promote Eco products. Plus, if you have a site you can build and email list which can be great for selling products.

Oh, so is WA basically all about training people to become affiliate marketers, while offering rewards for introducing more people to WA?

It's a training ground, bootcamp, university, whatever you want to call it. And yes, you get paid if you refer others. That's why I mentioned your Friend, Rob. If you like it here, no harm in referring him or anyone else you know on your Facebook. Plus, you don't have to be blatant about it. Look to the top left, click on Activity Dashboard, choose the Succes tab, between Popular and Everyone, look for the ones with the best title and hits and grab the affiliate code. Only do this on Facebook and twitter though as Google + will throw a fit if you use the raw url. To cloak it use this service http://goo.gl/ on Twitter. With Facebook I just paste the url in and once it grabs the story I delete it. It's a lot tidier this way. Looks better.

But another good point about this place is that you have what they call a community. You can ask questions and get answers. If the community can't answer the site owners will chip in. They're very active on the site and I've seen them help others. In the activity Dashboard tab you will see live conversations to the right of the page. Hard to keep up with this but can be worth a look.

This place is the real deal Matt and like oldbuddy70 says, be patient, build a good foundation and you will make more and more money online. To the point where you could go part time. Until then, use what resources you have to invest here and there. It's the only way to learn.
