My suggestion is to allow comments on all pages, posts and everything else.

Google (Bing, Yahoo, etc.) searches all of your pages, so give them as much stuff as possible. This helps in ranking, (all things being equal) and, if they are actually rather meaty, they can really help....

Hi Mickey,

Thank you for your answer! Yup, as I said, if there wasn't for one of the WA members to tell me that I didn't allow comments on the About Me page, I would never have noticed. :) So, I allowed them on all of my pages and posts. Thank you for your explanation. Have a beautiful and productive day! :)

Cheers,

Meena

It depends on the structure of the site. Many people have only About and Privacy pages, so comments are not so important

But I would always allow comments on About page. Why? The answer is why not. Why would you not allow somebody to ask you about you or about site on the About page?

I have around 70 pages in one site and they all have comments.

So yes allow comments everywhere unless your site is a holy book, one of those that do not allow criticism of any kind.

Comments are a window for new content and new keywords.

There's only one Holy book, and it's not mine. :) I was actually wondering how this would affect Google ranking and if there's a difference between comments on your pages and on your posts? Are some of them more 'valuable' than the others, e.g. the ones on your posts?
However, I allowed comments on all of my pages and posts, except from the Privacy Policy page of course.
One of the WA members reminded me that I wrote on the About Me page that people should leave a comment below if they have any questions. However, I forgot to allow them to do so. :)
Well, Mr. Jovo, these were some of my thoughts. Thank you for clearing that up. :)

There are a few, and they all claim to be the only genuine words of God. Hence the misery in the world.

No difference regarding comments on posts and pages just let people write if they want.

Just for the record: my 'like' was for the second part of the comment. :)))

Agree 100%

Agree100%!

No problem Mina, I know this may be a sensitive issue for some.

Thank you Barbara.

Then stay away from it!

I only do comments on posts not pages as that’s what I use for my reviews and news.

Oh, ok. Good to know. Thank you for your answer.
Have a great day!

I rarely have comments on pages other than on my About Me, but they're active on all my posts.

Hey Sharon,

Thank you for your answer. Have you ever asked people here at WA to comment on your pages?

Cheers!

I only use the commenting system that's available. I've never asked anyone to comment on my About, but random people on the internet 'somewhere' have lol :)

Haha! Well Lady May, I thought about the Give-and-take platform here. People gave me some awesome comments and feedback on my website. But, I allowed comments on the About Me page, simply because I wrote that they should "leave a comment below" in case they have any questions. :)
Have a great day!

I would say yes, allow comments on all posts because it will improve rankings in google.
I wouldn't allow comments on pages like " About Me", or "Privacy Policy".. But you may have created other pages that can be interacted with. That decision is solely yours. Hope that helps
Cheers,
Darren

Hey Darren,

Thank you for your answer. May I ask you if there's a reason why you wouldn't allow comments on About Me page?

Cheers!

I actually didn't think my answer thru because I do allow comments on my About Me page, I just don't have any lol. But for pages like Privacy Policy I definitely wouldn't advise allowing comments for.

Great! Because one of the WA members reminded me that I wrote on the About Me page that people should leave a comment below if they have any questions. However, I forgot to allow them to do so. :)

I have it set to allow comments for every post. I don't see why you wouldn't allow comments....that is what will boost your rankings on google.

Well, that was also one of my questions. Is there any difference between allowing comments on your blog posts and on your pages? Am I supposed to have more comments on my pages? Or on my posts?

Hi, Meena! By default your posts allow comments and your pages don’t. Here is a useful video about how to enable comments on your pages: And here is a training that is addressing a very specific issue about comments: “How to Transfer Comments between Pages or Posts”, but it also could give you an insight about the importance of comments. And also encourage you to appreciate comments with a
fair measure. Comments are rather difficult to get (even thou here in WA they seem to be easy):

Hey Henry,

Once again, thank you for your detailed and prompt answer. :)
I did allow comments on all of my pages. However, I've been wondering how this affects my Google rankings. I'll definitely check this out. And yes, comments are not so easy to get. Unless you have someone who's really fair and puts at least some effort into writing a quality comment. :)

Thanks again!

Cheers!

Thank you for your kind words. You’re most welcome! And I really hope the training gives an insight. I’ll be watching out for any further questions. Have a nice day! :)

What does a good Contact page look like? Any examples?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Meena

There are many looks to a contact me page. It is up to you and you have a few good answers, below.

The only thing I could add is: If you offer your email, follow-up!
If you offer your phone number, be there to answer it!
This may be a great [lace to put a capture form so you can collect email addresses for your email management program.

Hi Mickey,

Thank you for you answer, again. :) Do you think it's better to offer my phone number? I understand that having a phone number on your site and the ability to talk to a real person makes you feel more comfortable when purchasing online, right?

The 'closer' you can get to a potential client, the better for relationship building! However,

I don't believe I would include my phone number as my address can be deduced from it!

Oh, good to know! Thank you! Have a great day! :)

The "History" about you and the product you promote. How is your relationship? Maybe large or short. The true

Claudio, le doy las gracias por su respuesta y su interés. :)

There are plenty of free contact plugins you can use that puts a nice firm on your contact page for people to send email. But you could also put your picture or company logo with any of your contact info you want shown. Simple and clean is always best

Thank you, Kevin! :)

'While moving from one page to another, the transition comes with a kind of jerk in the page, acts like a twinge' - website feedback. How to fix this?

Thanks in advance.

I agree the comment is very vague. Do they mean is slow to load? Page transition cannot be jerky, they don't dissolve and fade back into the new page. One page disappears the new one pops up. Any flickering or flashes of other screens would be something for SiteSupport I imagine. If the load speed is slow that could be due to a heavy plug-in. Ask them to expand on that comment.

Hey Jair, thank you for your answer. I believe I also understood it that way. However, I've been wondering if that's something only one person could experience as a technical difficulty.
Anyway, I'll definitely ask for more info.
Thank you again and I'm sorry for my late reply.
Cheers!

I would ask the person to elaborate, otherwise ignore it.

Thank you Jovo for your answer.
The rest of the comment was easy to follow, and this was something I believed I could fix. But no other complaints.
Is it possible that only one person has experienced this technical difficulty on my website?
Sorry for my late response.

Hard to say since the person did not give details.

Then I should definitely ask for further explanation.

I've been trying to find some relevant images for my blog, and recently have found many of them on Pinterest that I'd like to use. However, I honestly have fear of violating th

I have had great luck with these following sites;

www.sxc.hu - free
www.wikimedia.org - free
www.pivabay.com - free
www.unsplash.com - free
www.stocksnap.io - free
www.kaboompics.com - free qith a grapkoc editor, neat site
www.megapixel.com - free 1 month.
www.stockvault.com - $0.05/[pc/,omth = $0.60/year

This takes a lot longer but I have also been emailing companies directly for photos of their product, It has about a 70% success rate while the other 30% just don't reply. The ones that do agree, usually go above and beyond in my experience. Just 2 weeks ago a company agreed and sent me a package of 310 images, 17 videos and an assortment of logos and gifs. I all I asked was could I use such and such image from their website for my webpage where I recommended this product of theirs. I guess they look at it as free advertising which it is. Between @RICH and myself, you should be really stocked. I should also mention that my list in reverse has the best catalog and retrieval system, I started writing it backwards and just stayed committed lol. Happy affiliating!

Anyone with an image you want to use, just threaten them with ypur hi-ya heels of fury miss karate!!

:) Thank you so much, Jair! Good to have all the info. I'll definitely try these. Writing about fashion can be tricky sometimes, because I have to find adequate pictures so as to match them with my posts.
However, many of them are too 'general' for my website, and I need real people wearing outfits I'm writing about.
But, I'm still gonna give it a shot. And then, I'm switching to my own stock photos that are dying to get posted. :)
I'll definitely use the karate thing. Just for fun! :)

I have also been having good luck with the following;
www.sxc.hu - free database
wikimedia.org - free database
pixaby.com - free database (Good)
unsplash.com - free database (Good)
stocksnap.io - free database still growing
kaboompics.com - free database (really good w graphics editor)
megapixel.com - 1 free month cheap afterward
stockvault.com - $0.05/month %0.60/year per photo

I also have been emailing companies to ask permission with mixed responses. Either they never reply or they say yes and send you media packs. One company I used sent me a file with 310 photos, 15 videos and an assortment of headers, logos, and gifs. This way does take time but it can very well be worth it. I would just threaten them with your karate...they probably give you stock options and their car keys....you big intimidator! Hope that helps you out. Between @RICH and I, you should most definitely be set. Happy affiliating!

No for Pinterest, this cannot be legal.

Have you tried Pixabay, Wikimedia, and Google Images? My experience is very good with Wikimedia, you can get high-quality stuff there; always check the image for copyright when you choose. In Google Images you can filter for 'free to use even commercially'.

Thank you, Mr. Jovo! :) Good to know. It's a fashion-oriented website, so I can't really find everything I need on Pixabay, Wikimedia, and other websites. But, for now, some free stock images will serve the purpose.

It's not risk free, unless you can get the copyright holder's permission, especially as you will be using them in a commercial context.

If you want to be sure that the images you are using are copyright free, I recommend you use a stock library that offers indemnity.

For example, Stock Unlimited http://www.stockunlimited.com offers unlimited downloads for a month for $9, which should be long enough to stock up on a year-or-two's worth of photos! They also offer a $25,000 per image indemnity against any copyright infringement claims.

There's also Deposit Photos www.depositphotos.com who offer a huge range of images for a $1-a-pop.

Dreamstime www.dreamstime.com have an excellent range as do Adobe www.stock.adobe.com albeit both of these are more expensive.

All offer substantial indemnity against copyright infringement.

Hey everyone, I was wondering if you credit photographers by putting their names in the image description? I know that it's not required, but it allows them to gain exposure. <

I had the same question before too! But I saw in a bunch of other websites, that bloggers usually credit the photographer with a "photo courtesy of.." or "credit go to"

Yes, I thought the same! I would go and credit them if they can benefit from it as well, but I still want to make it look professional.

it depends on where you got the image. Some royalty sites require it because it's free. To me, this makes your site look less professional. I pay for my images approximate $1 per - you have to put $21 on file and then use it as you like. I don't credit the images and it's not required. I use http://123rf.com they are really good and I have used them for years.

If someone took photos for you, then you may want to do a mention as that is a little different than getting photos online.

Thank you for the answer. I would definitely consider your advice.I wish you all the best.
