Just a little story I'm ready to share...

I have a lil "tea cup" short and chubby, She has a lil handle and a lil short spout, When I tip her over, She falls right out, cause just learning to walk. She's still my lil "tea cup" short and chubby.

My "Lil Tea Cup' Runth over.

The love and fun I shared with my children, I thought that I could never be able to share with another, but life held a lovey surprise for me the day I became a grand-mother. Although, I have two 5-year-old before her, I am having the pleasure of spend more time with mamma's "lil tea cup."

Her name is Leona and she just turned one year old last weekend. What a party with family she seemed a little in shock. She did't know what to do about or with her car that her mama made just for her. Also, her outfit matched the cake, a sunflower, lol.

Not only is Leona learned to walk but of all, you guessed it; she's also learning to talk, pretty good, I might add. Half the words we can understand. Both my daughters have a daughter and they teach them something that I did not, and that's sign language. I never learned sign language myself. It's quite cute to watch her say "thank you" and "please" Her vocabulary is picking rather rapidly, as she learns quickly. My Aunt Rachael taught me their little brains are like a sponge and up to age 5/6 they are becoming the person they will be in the future.

The reason I choose to share about her tonight is, I've never met a child quite like her and it's obviously my blood kin. We call her mama, "my mini me" cause she's a lot like me but a RockStar. Lucy is here name, 27, in the army, drives a truck, 5 years at her job and involved with her church and many friends. She also does country dance contest with her fiance`. Now she calls Leona her "mini me". I have told people they will never meet another one like me, I'm a 1%. Trust me, if you do, call me and we will pray together lol.

Leona laughs about everything, even when you laugh and she has no idea why. I'm thankful that she's a happy child. Leona has a 5-year-old brother named Jordan who is absolutely wonderful with her. Play with her, shares with her and even lets her in his room lol. She adores him, as well. Leona is blessed with a loving and happy family. We have recently discovered that she could possibly be spoiled. Yes, I said that out loud lol. Leona rarely every cry, but if she gets mad, she screams to top of her lungs. Great balls of fire, this action makes the hair stand straight up on my arm. I almost look like a cartoon character. What can I do to fix this? Don't answer that. It was a rhetorical question. Mamma will fix this wagon wheel before we hit the trail, because I will not tolerate another rough ride.

In Conclusion

I expect my future to be filled with many more stories to tell. Including my lil "tea cup". It's almost everything I used to dream of as a young girl and I have a Lord that blesses me each and everyday. My cup runth over.

Hey Lisa thank you for giving me a window in to what brings you so much joy. Family is such a bedrock for the motivation that fuels us. Will this be part of any of your niches?

Loved your story Lisa, Leona sounds like a lovely, happy child!
Just waiting, hoping and longing for some sort of return to a normal life when we can all meet up with and enjoy our grandchildren.

I put her picture up there, where did it go?

What a great post. I miss my grandkids so much. We can only get together at this point through video chat. You are very fortunate.

Being a grandparent is the best job you'll ever have!! Thanks for sharing. Christine

Love your story Lisa. I can relate as I just became a Grandmother last year in Dec 2019, just before the world fell apart. I time I get with him is so sweet and special, not a second is wasted, because I don't know how log it will be before I'll see him again. His personality is just starting to come out, and it is so much fun. I pray this world will recover at least to the point where families can come together again.
I may start a letter campaign to the government to have another Thanks giving implemented after this horrible virus is finally over. It has taken so much away from people. My hope is people will never stop being grateful for what the already had in ours lives, after this over.
And we Grammas get to spend the rest of our days playing with our Grandkids.
A great fun and upbeat story for a Sunday evening. Thank you for righting it Lisa.
Please write more Adventures in Gramma sitting.

Sheena

Oh Sheena I felt that from heart, thank you. You can't never tell what story is next with me. I never know myself lol.
Happy February!
