Who We Are

We all want to be seen and heard for who we are — and not as stereotypes. We do not want projected assumptions of who we are — no one dimensional role definitions.

We are all different.

We don’t want identities that are lumped together or overly generic.

As leaders we need to hear each person's story so we can see them more clearly and for who they are.

Then, in turn, we need to reveal our own stories.

Let's make 2023 the year we focus on humanization and compassion, so that we can create connection and community in everything we do and say.

Once again...thank you all for reading and supporting my blogs!

-Mike

Amen to that.

Each one of us is unique and has different qualities and different stories to tell.

Those stories have shaped our perception of the world around us, and it is not the same as your colleague, your friend, or your spouse.

To be able to see people as they are, we should work on changing from a reactive response to others to a reflective reaction to others.

Great post, Mike

Roy

Thank you Mike. Compassion is an innate trait that many out of fear and ego fail to share more with others. The world is devoid of compassion like never before.

I recall my Gran telling stories of the great depression where neighbors shared everything to survive, when most had little and some had nothing.

The 60s we're sad for a number of events one reflects today's Holiday the assassination of a man with immense compassion the Great Dr King.

We also had people sharing love, flowers and compassion on the streets. Granted the 60s had their negativity but at least many attempted to change that.

So here we are today with your help in inspiring the compassion in all of us. WA is infectious filled with compassion. That portrays our true identity. Thank you.

Happy Dr. Martin Luther King day!

Some may not celebrate or support. If so fine, at least celebrate the compassion in the man and his love for all mankind.

Great perspective of the struggle for civil rights dating back to Dr. King's days and the tumultuous but life-affirming 1960s. So pleased to have grown up in those heady days of true hope and change.

Yes, that was my hidden agenda/ message!

As the old song says "Come on people now, Smile on your brother, Try to love one another right now". (I think that is how it goes. :) )

Thank you!

Most Welcome, Mike. :D

Wouldn't that be excellent, Mike? If we all did just one small part, this could be very possible to accomplish!

Jeff

I believe so, Jeff! If each of us did just 5% more…collectively that would certainly move the needle a good amount in the right direction.

Have a great week!

-Mike

You are right, Mike! There is strength in numbers!
