Being An Effective Leader — It’s NOT In A Title
When I look back at the most outstanding leaders I have ever worked for or have known, I would have to say that I learned most from the men and women that had no actual title, yet they had the heart to put their pride aside and helped improve the people around them — they all seemed to be able to elevate all those around them by mentoring, teaching, and guiding.
Anyone can be a leader, regardless of their role or title, because a true leader sees the value of people and works to support the growth and development of those around them.
Helping Others Grow and Succeed
What makes an effective leader is not the title you hold, but instead, it’s demonstrating an unrelenting focus on helping others succeed in their collective efforts.
Many believe leadership is conferred along with a title or attained when you direct a team of people, but authentic leadership is never about authority or power, instead, it’s about helping others grow, which anyone can do.
If you can inspire people to believe something beyond what they thought was possible, believe in someone when they didn’t believe in themselves, when you show people you care, and they want to push themselves further to support you - you’re already a leader.

I would also like to add, a leader is one who takes time to get to know everyone around them, and specifically takes time to get to know their names. I'm always impressed, yet it seems rare these days, when I see people taking time to really get to know others. It's hard, but worth it, and it's great to see people's eyes light up when you remember their name.
