I hope everyone had a great weekend and is having a great Labor day!

*Note- Shouldn't today be called "no labor day"?

Been missing you guys this week!

This is the week every month where I set a ridiculous goal for content and fall short ! LOL

I didn't have much time on W.A. because I have been researching and writing all week ! The research on one of the websites was time heavy on the review category and sometimes reviews take a while to get done ! If you actually buy the product, and form an opinion of it, it's a little involved!

I think it would be safe to say that the refund department at ClickBank likely hates me right now! I haven't found a single thing that I wanted to keep !

Anyway! I set my goal at a post a day and wound up with 5 for the week.

Kind of bummer in some ways, but at least I know they are all honest and pretty well done, so I can live with that!

I was doing research over the past 3 weeks so that everything would be done but the writing for this week. But between my goal of 2-3 posts a week during those three weeks and my never ending battle with procrastination, I didn't make my goal again. But I'm OK with that!

Mass Answer to a P.M. I received

On another note I have had a couple of P.M.s asking about indexing times. Both of these people said it seemed that it was taking too long to get a post indexed into the search engines.

There are many people with much more time and experience than me here at W.A. so I totally invite you to jump in here and add to this! In fact, I would appreciate it if you did. I blew through Bootcamp the first time and I'm working my way through slowly the second time so I can retain more and take notes.

My super simple recipe

This may help some others and especially the newer members

Again everyone with more info: feel free to chime in!

I have discovered that of a total of 108 posts, 18 are on page 1 and 38 are on page 2-3. The rest I'm not sure of because it takes too much time.

The secret I have been using is actually as far from being a secret as possible !

1. I try to write the best content I possibly can (The reason for being short on my goals)
   
2. My target for each post is 2,000 words. I have a couple of pillar posts that have around 3,000. (Sounds hard, but once you start it isn't)
3. Try to make every post you write better than the last (Or at least as good)
4. Images-Resize Images (Important) And describe what the picture is in the ALT Text box as if you were describing it to someone over the phone.
5. Make sure that you optimize your title, and descriotion at the bottom of each post.
6. Use a featured image
7. Share on Social Media ( Share a photo on your fan page, then put the link to your post in the first comment) Facebook wants to keep you on Facebook. The Facebook edge rank loves photos, but hates any non-native content that links off site. *There are tips and tricks for every social media site. Google them and follow it. You will see a vast improvement!
8. Another Facebook note- I have upped my traffic from Facebook by 3% by doing this. It is now at 5%! Facebook doesn't play well with bloggers, so I would use it but don't waste time there. Pick 1 or 2 of the others if you want to spend time there. I suggest Pinterest and Instagram. I get the most traffic from there
9. I finish up by pinging on 2 different sites. Both offer different servers to notify the search engines that your blog has been updated. ( Usually get indexed in a few hours)

Websites I use to ping are : pingomatic and Feedsharkbybrainbliss. Add a .com to the ends :) (Don't wanna post links)

One more thing about the WA Community

I look forward to being more involved in the community after the last couple of weeks !

I have an idea about the social media stuff and would like to get some input!

I'm thinking about putting a post up that is similar to the one Kyle put up about social media in the training, but with a twist.

*In this post/ thread you can request engagement on your social sites and return the favor as well .

When someone puts in a request you will go to their profile (need to have your social links there obviously) Follow or like that WA member on all their social stuff. Then leave a like and a comment on at least 1 post on that site. Not just a like.

Then find a post to share on your social. If you are in the same niche it will work better! If you are promoting the same thing like WA pick a post that isn't related to share .

What say you?

Ideas to improve the idea?

Just to pick one: I notice a bunch of posts from WA members and non-members that have a total of one +1 and no comments or shares. By actually engaging with other people's posts it will at least 4X the results.
