1 Year at Wealthy Affiliate & a Little Treat
Hey hey!
So I just logged in to see it's been a year as a premium member at Wealthy Affiliate.
To be totally honest with you I thought I would have seen more traction by now.
But looking back over the last year it's pretty easy to see what's really happened.
For the first 6 months I pretty much thought I could do better.
So I kind of followed the training, but I mainly did whatever I felt like doing.
In case you didn't know...
That's a bad idea
I jumped in, read other "bloggers" tips and kind of mashed it all together and started doing "stuff and things".
I also started a podcast (stupid now I think about it) after 4 months.
Although, this has been a massive distraction and kept me from following the training properly, it's meant I have got to speak to a lot of successful online business owners and I've certainly learnt a lot from this.
BUT
From about 6 months in, I went through the training properly.
My website is now starting to get actual traffic from Google and I'm noticing a pattern...
I'm upping the post frequency and starting to see some results.
In fact, yesterday I even received another affilaite commission. It's not much but it's better than the random commissions I received from book reviews earlier in the year.
Giving this more time this year, I'm pretty excited to see where we end up this time in 12 months!
To continued success!

It is so easy to get distracted at the start. So much to see and learn and eager to know it all right now.
All the best to you as you reach and surpass your goals.
That's fantastic news Mike. Now that you understand whats needed to make sales you can begin to multiply the effort. All the best. Jim
100% Jim, to be fair that may have been a lucky Pinterest effort. But the blog traffic is also starting to climb, which is good
wow congrats on your commission! :)
i have that same temptation right now to not follow the training lolz I am currently on the low hanging fruit lesson and am putting off creating a keyword rich content.
Thank you for sharing your results here. :)
Seeing results, even from someone else, is really motivating.
Glad to hear you are starting to see a change for the positive in your website and business. Like my GF keeps asking, have you made any money from your website yet? And I told her, "In the first 2 weeks of building my website? No, I haven't made a cent yet." LOL.. I find it kinda funny how some people just dont get that its not a get rich over night or over a month kinda thing. It's a business, and just like any other business. It takes time to GROW & DEVELOP. Keep your head up man, Im sure things are about to really take off for you within the next year.
Thanks for sharing Mike. It's a learning process for sure. It looks like your website has great potential, onward and upward.

Thanks for the share, Mike.
Congrats on the progress you have made, may you continue to have steady growth with your business.
The training here in WA is set for us to succeed, these areas of success will all add up to bigger results in the long-term.
All the best
Darren :)
Congrats Mike! I admit I also skip and do a little bit of mashups here and there... I should stop haha.
Wish you more success going into your second year!
Congrats! Have a cold one to your success and another sneaky one to your continued efforts :)
Certainly will Dee!!
Sort've trying the old one year no beer though (not sure how long I'll last!)... but I can certainly have a sparkling water with lemon and ice ;)

Happy WA anniversary. I think its like everything in life Mike, learn how things are done properly with the basics then you can deviate to see if things can be done better, quicker and cheaper.
When we get in a rut go back to the basics and concentrate on getting them right again.
Best wishes for the reset.
Cheers
Gaz
Wise words Gaz, I will hold onto those too.
Thanks so much
